The gap between City and the rest of the league is so big now two banks of four is the only way to play them.
So to allow City to show their class the only way they can break up play is by giving referees variations of how they determine situations.
This forces the other team to change the way they play and and City turn on the style. This makes the premier league look entertaining to the rest of the world
The FA CUP was on its arse a couple of years ago after the authorities decided it wasn't lucrative
Now they're biggin it up again. The final will become a top 6 final for years to come helped by the same refereeing desicions

They got the little advantages all afternoon from the ref and officials but unfortunately you expect that.

At one point in the first half Guardiola was some 25 yards outside his technical area nobody said a ******* word to him.

They made it 2-1 straight from the Kick off Vokes goes clean through onside City caught square the Lino couldn’t get his flag up quick enough.

The game had gone but the 4th goal Barnes goes down far too easily in the City half no foul IMO. Would City have been given a free kick for that, you bet your granny they would.

Law 5 Referees

Clearly states that the referee is obliged to ....

indicates the restart of the match after it has been stopped.

That is usually by the use of the whistle or using the forward momentum of his arms.

By not indicating his permission to restart the game theoretically the ball was not in play.

I think it’s quite remarkable that we’ve got so far in this thread without somebody picking up on the OP’s terrible grammar.

It’s City’s First Goal.

Graham Scott was the ref v Lincoln last season too. He was about as useful as t!ts on a fish then as well.

That's all you need to know

I remember that one but was having trouble putting it into words. Great refereeing.

Thank You.

Having seen it now I think although it's a perfectly legitimate goal because they caught us completely cold it looks like a weird goal and I can see why some think it shouldn't have stood, but as has been said we scored a very similar goal in the mid to late 1990s.

We do lack concentration at times, yesterday being a prime example. Who was marking Aguero, on two occasions ?
No complaints from me although I didn't think it was a free kck in the first place.

I was thinking of Kurt Nogan and Kevin Russell's "Love Child".

60 odd replies and nobody has acknowledged that we were petulant in chipping the ball away from City players as they initially tried to set the free kick (think it was Westwood) then he was guilty of not retreating in a timely fashion. I don't like it but as we also switched off I believe we got exactly what we deserved. Added to that late Liverpool goal where we also went to sleep it'll be a valuable lesson for us.

Westwood was only doing what every player does to us. The problem is he negated his marking duties as a result.

It was probably his mistake in the end, but still very harsh on us that the ref didn't pull back play. I still think he would have if we did that.
