mini crisis

Post by pushpinpussy » Sat Jan 06, 2018 5:37 pm

i think thats 6 games without a win now. injuries to key players. some key men off form. need to get out of the rut before the season becomes a little unpleasant.

No, Stoke have a major crisis.
We are in a bit of a sticky patch ourselves, but nothing like Stoke's.

The arrogance of Hughes has it as a mini crisis, if he survives this result he has something on their chairman. ;)

Wow. This isn’t a crisis. Looking at the fixtures you could argue it’s expected. Can’t see us winning the next two home games either. We have 34 points, 16 games left, and we are in 7th. A crisis is when you have to win the last game of the season to stay in the league!

Fine margins as our manager says. We could easily be sat here having 3 points at Old Trafford and a draw against Liverpool.

The fact we’ve got ourselves into that position in the first place whilst at the business end of the Premier League indicates to me we are a very competitive respected side.

I’m loving it because we are competing at the very top level. Crisis, you’re having a f***ing laugh, context ****head, context.

I thought twice about coming on here tonight as I expected the usual idiots would be out attempting to have a go at the club and knocking everything we are building and have already acheived. Safe to say I haven't been disappointed.

On the bright side I am laughing at the idiots so it's all good.

The greatest mini crisis in my time as a claret. We could lose the next 3 games and we’d still be in the top 10 in the premier league.

If we lose our next 3 or 4 games then I think we can call it a mini crisis but we'll probably still be
in the top ten and a good 6-8 points off the bottom three.

a mini crisis. for me, is if we are starting to look over our shoulders and beginning to get
a tad worried.

Now where near there yet and a couple of wins will alleviate any chance of that happening.

Don't particularly want to go there either as at present this is our best season ever for
over 40+ years.

There has been a shift of strength, we are struggling to maintain the same level of effectiveness, 50 rather than 60 points now looks our aim.
Crisis no, but a little uncertainty has crept into our season.

I suspect we'd have to lose our next 7-8 matches before we would only be 6-8 points clear.

Utter f***ing spineless rubbish.

We got 34 points before the New Year. That would have been enough
to keep us up last season. And we've got it BEFORE the New Year.
So we've got the same time to get a few more points to ensure our
"survival" , to pacify the snowflakes. Not getting those few points ain't gonna happen.
It'll be much the same this time around, maybe a couple of points more.

There isn't the slightest snowballs chance in hell we'll get dragged into the scrap
at the bottom. Stop fretting.

Pour a ten year old malt.
Go for a bracing country walk.
Think fond memories of a former lover.
Smell the roses.

And just try to have a little faith.

And if we did get dragged into a relegation scrap, we'd damn well deserve to go down.
There's absolutely no chance.
At the very, very worst, I'd expect us to be on 37 points by the end of February. A couple of wins would put us unto the forties.

We've had some tough fixtures recently. But overall, I think the fixture difficulty schedule between now and the end of the season is nicer. I think we need 1 or 2 players this month though, as we miss Brady.

We've been punching well above our weight so far this season.
A slight drop (12th) wouldn't be so bad would it?
Still plenty of points for us to pick up, and we will do.

Wasn't there today, but the players didn't look tired in any of the previous 3 games, all of which I saw, and the game before that they came within a whisper of winning at United. Should have won at Huddersfield, kept City to fewer clear chances than just about any other team at the Etihad all season, unfortunate to lose to Liverpool. We might be playing just a notch below what we were producing earlier in the season, but more fundamentally we've had a touch run of games, are being hampered by a few injuries, and are not getting the breaks at the minute and the margins in this league are small.

Its a blip, but we're still 7th and once this really tough sequence is over and we get a few players back, we'll be fine. We're a good team.

I was saying to a fellow claret earlier that I wouldn't be entirely surprised if we only win 2 more games this season (and draw a few).
It's not a crisis because we are reaping the benefits of our early season over-achievements.
How many of us could honestly be disappointed if we finished 15th?
