Re: Nkoudou coming to the Turf
My Spurs supporting mate says that he was hoping he'd feature this season but they are tight on their quota for homegrown players so he had to be sacrificed. He is unrelentingly positive where Spurs and their players are confirmed though.

He could help us finish higher up the table than had we not brought him in which = more money and a more atractive move in the summer for players we go for.Grimsdale wrote:I can't really see what's in it for us if it's just a 6 month loan with no option to buy.

Just seen him going in Bob Lord stand main entrance

Re: Nkoudou coming to the Turf
Mahorn only ever made 15 league appearances, despite a 10 year career in football, and then only a few more in non league. I just looked it up. He scored his only ever league goal whilst on loan for Burnley. Now THAT'S stealing a living!!!

Trippier recently said that he thought he was fit until he went to Spurs, apparently Pochetino fit is fitter than Dyche fit - so he'll at least be fit !
Re: Nkoudou coming to the Turf
Well he's hardly going to say otherwise. Andre Gray said likewise after he moved to Burnley.Vegas Claret wrote:Trippier recently said that he thought he was fit until he went to Spurs, apparently Pochetino fit is fitter than Dyche fit - so he'll at least be fit !

I'm not claiming to.Jakubs Tash wrote:Dane Richards??
I have heard of him/noticed him play in cup games for Spurs but know little about his ability. Very strange that so many others have followed his carrer thus far so closely.....
I just have high hopes given that Spurs paid good money for him, and clearly has ability from what little I've seen of him.
How many out of favour players have we seen shine here?
Sharing the same position as Eriksen, Alli, Son etc as well. Hard to get game time in that company.

Re: Nkoudou coming to the Turf
Sometimes, all young wingers need can just need a little bit of confidence and game time. Dyche and Burnley could be the perfect place for him to find form
Re: Nkoudou coming to the Turf
Will hopefully be given a fair chance unlike some of our previous loan signings. No point throwing him on for 5 minutes here and there and expecting him to make an impact.

Re: Nkoudou coming to the Turf
Also, with Brady injured, he is not taking a slot of a long-term starter. I like Arfield. He has had some great performances and has done nothing but give his all for the club. But at this point with the club, he is a squad player. I think we need to upgrade this position, at least for the remainder of the season.MiltonKeynesClaret93 wrote:I'm not claiming to.

The Gs in Georges are soft, like Patrick Bamford

His wikipedia entry has the Gs in Georges-Kevin to be like the S in measure, like a zh sound, and interestingly his surname is pronounced without the N apparently.

Another inverted winger then. Interesting way that we play with big strikers when we intend to play inverted wingers all the time. Lets hope it works out.

Burnley twinned with Marseille
With the signing of Nkoudou, I make that 5 who played for Burnley and Marseille.
Joey Barton
Steven Fletcher
Trevor Steven
Chris Waddle
All before him.
Have we had so mamy play for one foreign club before? Scottish clubs aside I doubt it.
Burnley twinned with Marseille. Has a ring to it.
They have the port. We have weavers triangle.
They have notre dame de la garde. We have towneley hall.
They have Marseille Cathedral. We have stoneyholmes new mosque.

How does this compare with how much they wanted for kane? Would be worth knowing if only to compare how they value him vs kane when he was being loaned outClaretTony wrote:Which will probably included his wages - we'll pay Spurs and they'll pay him.

From what I'm told the Kane deal was ridiculously priced if we didn't play him every gamecricketfieldclarets wrote:How does this compare with how much they wanted for kane? Would be worth knowing if only to compare how they value him vs kane when he was being loaned out

Re: Nkoudou coming to the Turf
Don’t worry about that, it won’t belong to your club for much longer. Besides, we could probably buy it about ten times over if we wanted.Saxoman wrote:Just had a look at barnfield and its not a patch on brockhall, not even close. How much have you spent on it??
Re: Nkoudou coming to the Turf
This is a bit like someone with a mansion that is mortgaged up to the hilt and about to be repossessed bragging that he has a bigger and better house than his neighbour, which is debatable anyway. One training complex is producing players for League 1 if any and the other is set up to train and produce Premier League players.Saxoman wrote:Just had a look at barnfield and its not a patch on brockhall, not even close. Re: Nkoudou coming to the Turf
Only seen the YouTube clips he seems very raw, think it’s a bit of a strange one tbh just doesn’t seem the type that would fit in our team.Course we all want fast, skilful players but he seems very unfinished.Fingers cross with this but hope he turns out a good signing.Walters is the strangest one, proven player and been fit for a while now how he did not get a game over the Xmas period is a bit baffling.
