Re: Gerorge Boyd
A mate of mine is a Wednesday fan so we went to see Carlisle V Wednesday last week at Brunton Park (I live up near Lockerbie)
George was playing his first game back after a while out with a shoulder injury. He played well but was obviously tiring before he got subbed.
Jones was as one dimensional as usual.
Man of the Match for me and many around me was Ross Wallace. Still looks dangerous and played some gorgeous 50/60 yards passes.
Looking forward to watching the derby tonight!

Re: Gerorge Boyd
Wallace is a big crowd favourite at Sheff Wed - Boyd is on his way back from two shoulder operations. If Jones was one dimensional he couldn't have played like he did for us, fantastic signing by Dyche and a key player in both promotions.

Re: Gerorge Boyd
Jones was well underrated. Very good player.
For us, at least. Don't know what he's like now.

Exactly, he may well be one dimensional now but I've seen zero matches he has played in since he left us so couldn't tell.ElectroClaret wrote:Jones was well underrated. Very good player.

Re: Gerorge Boyd
The same people who criticise(d) David Jones were probably waxing lyrical over the likes of Gareth Barry. Yes very underrated player as is George Boyd. Hope they both go on to have a good and injury free season but the play offs are looking very distant indeed.

Totally agree about Jones.ElectroClaret wrote:Jones was well underrated. Very good player.

Jones a tick- over player, effective but never going to excite.

Re: Gerorge Boyd
Ooooh look at you lot jumping all over the "one dimensional" comment.
Jones does now exactly what Jones did then and it ain't spectacular but it is effective. He gets it and plays it sideways. He is patient and assured. Wednesday fans were taking the p*** in an semi affectionate way. Given the right creation alongside him then a player like that is a bonus.
As for Wallace, I get the impression that he has been far from "crowd favourite" recently there. Something has happened/been said - not sure, but it looks like he is having to fight his way back into affections.

Jones was an outstanding player for us who was pivotal to our success. He was one footed, not one dimensional.Guller Bull wrote:Ooooh look at you lot jumping all over the "one dimensional" comment.

Re: Gerorge Boyd
Jones was great in the Championship, not good enough for Prem as we all knew.

Pity Wallace didn’t give 100% every game and probably the reason why Dyche got rid.

Re: Gerorge Boyd
I'm one of Boyd's biggest fans but I did chuckle when after the sending off Boyd came on for Rhodes.
They needed that solid tracking back
