Re: ARTICLE: Seven years on and Lambert goes to Stoke
I'm about to tune into Sky to watch Man U v Potters. Wouldn't mind a draw in this but cant really see that happening (more likely about 4-0).
Stoke have Stephen Ireland starting for the first time in something like 2 years + their new signing from Ruben Kazan (Moritz Bauer). They have a few decent players but Man U are turning out a pretty strong XI. Might be hard viewing for Lambert watching from the stands. Still- things cant get much worse, can they?

Loved watching him as a player.Think this might be his last job as a manager in England.

Blimey, that's generous. I had a bet, at start of season, on Stoke to be relegated at 7/1 with Bet365. Currently they are only offering cashout on that at the equivalent of c 3/2. Mind - Bet365 is owned by the Coates family so maybe they are being unduly optimistic.

I don't think it's as bad an appointment as some are making out, 2 promotions at Norwich, steadied the ship at b*stards, did well at Villa (I remember Hansen saying he should be manager of the season for keeping them up). At Wolves he finished higher in the league than they were when he took over.
He's certainly not a consistent failure like some of the managers who keep getting recycled at the same level.
