Good signing when it happens, needed a move - nothing confirmed yet though by Everton

Jury out as to whether he is worth £20m and the minimum £100k a week he will be on.

But he does improve Everton and he has a decent goal scoring record. Everton crying out for a bit of pace and more decent attacking players.

Allardyce would never have joined Everton if he wasn't promised a decent war chest - he spent £50m in the last week. Expect he will spend another £50m before next season.

What Everton are going to do with the £25m midfielder and £25m forward Koeman bought I'm not sure - very expensive flops who can't get a kick for them no doubt signed on long contracts.

And you have some of our fans still banging on about buying Sordell and Juke !!

It will look like a good move because his performance can only improve compared to doing nothing.

I dislike Everton however for swallowing great players like Keane and Sigurdsson and making them look totally average.

Good signing and decent value in this (insane) market. Can see him doing well at Everton. Big change for him and probably what he needs. With a renewed hunger he's the potential to be make a big impact.

Interestingly, both Keane (until a recent injury) and Sigurdsson have looked much better since 1) Koeman left and 2) Allardyce came in.

Ian Wright said last night that it would be a good move for him because Big Sam improves players while Wenger doesn't.

£20m for Walcott.

Let me try to put that into perspective for you.

£13m for Hendrick. Same, maybe more for Brady?

I think Everton have a bargain if Theo stays fit. He’s a very very good player who can play anywhere across the front line. Versatile AND skilful. Win win for Everton.

I think Arsene bought Walcott to replicate what he did with Henry when he signed from Juventus - take him from the wing and make him a star striker. But possibly due to injuries it just never happened. He's still got time to do it at Everton if he can avoid any more injuries, but that's a big IF.

Where would you play him though? I'd play him down the middle personally and tell him 'That is your position'. He'd get you 20 plus guaranteed.

The wage difference is a factor is it not?

Not only does Theo need to stay fit he needs to fit in a team with Wayne, Ashley, Michael, Gylfi, Oumar etc. Not an easy feat.

I don't know about 20 goals, but he wouldn't run out of pitch playing in the middle like he would out wide.

Not to arsenal. They got £20m. £20m for Walcott is a bargain. Everton have done good business here, and let’s not kid ourselves he’s getting at Everton what Lacazette will be getting at the arse, and who would you rather have?

Surprised at how many seem to rate Walcott, I've never thought he was a top 4 player and for me he typifies Arsenal's transformation into the lightweight, toothless also rans they've slowly become since he arrived there.

Theo Walcott is further evidence that Arsene Wenger does not develop players effectively.

Anelka, Henry and Vieira might disagree

How long has he been at the club? He should have more to show for it than that.

More to show for it than players he developed winning the World Cup, European Championships etc?

Henry: 1 WC, 1 Euros
Vieira: 1 WC, 1 Euros
Anelka: 1 Euros
Fabregas: 1 WC 2 Euros

What did Fergie's developed players ever win on the international stage?

Walcott will be on the bench cos he's not match fit
Then after a few 20 minutes he'll have a slight knock
He will be expected to be out for 2 to 3 weeks
He will be out for 2 to 3 months
He'll return on the bench cos he's not match fit
Then after a few 20 minutes he'll have a slight knock
He will be expected to be out for 2 to 3 weeks
He will be out for 2 to 3 months
Etc etc etc...............

Ronaldo & Nani won the Euros
De Gea has done ok !

Both Fergie and Wenger have great track records in developing players - it's not the players faults that they played for crap national teams. Winning a World Cup or Euros is as we know not always the best teams or players - as John Jensen would testify !
