Aren't filters supposed to let water through?

I can't imagine what it would achieve other than spoiling the filter.

What's it supposed to do? I haven't tried it but presumably there's some kind of "benefit"? ;)

Well the accepted wisdom/theory is, that vodka is produced by distilling through charcoal, which is what a brita filter is at its basic level, so in theory is should be like a further rudimentary distillation / filtration.

It may, indeed, be utter bollix

Just drink twice as much.

Or Dilute with turps.

I'd always assumed the distillation was done by ... well ... distillation.

Hoping you have a fun night but I'm fearful for your water filter - they're not cheap!

Whilst Turps tastes great and has a high alcohol content it, inevitably, leaves you feeling hollow inside.

It's really difficult to paint the town red if you are drinking turps...

Yep. It'll work as long as you use a charcoal filter
