Pathetic, the result today would still be the same if we had a different red. So many people on this forum have an eternal chip on their shoulder.

Re: Mike Dean
In comparison to most refs I thought he had a decent game. But he still had a poor game by the standards that referees should be referenced against. Even taking into account Barnes tendency for falling over, he was fouled pretty much every time the ball went near him. A strong ref would have booked Jones first half for his 2 blatant pushes. He didn’t. He’s weak. Doesn’t mean I have a chip on my shoulderKefkaClaret wrote:Pathetic, the result today would still be the same if we had a different red. Thought the only big mistake was not giving a foul and booking Matic when he took Barnes out with his arm.

Fine display today. Can't blame the ref for not bowing to our percentages style of play.
Create zero and you don't deserve to win. Our setup was 0-0, with a hopeful set play or peice of magic.
Didn't work again, but let's not blame the ref again.

What game were you watching Macca ? We attacked more today than we have done in weeks, we created plenty of nearly moments, had numerous free headers from set pieces etc etcMACCA wrote:Fine display today. Can't blame the ref for not bowing to our percentages style of play.

We fell to a goal created by someone who cost 90 million and was scored by a lad who cost 50 million. Barnes cost us 350K
Reality check required

I was sat in the CFS and certainly no one around me thought his preformance was "sickening", certainly not as bad as the abuse Hendrick and Bardsley were getting, although again I could see why.Lowbankclaret wrote:You just post on here to wind people up..

I am honestly struggling to see what Dean got so wrong and how he cost us the game.
I think our failure to work the guy in green employed to keep the ball out of the net for the opposition was more the issue today.
He could certainly use that strip and gloves again.

Of course they can blame him for us not scoring. Why do you think the thread was started in the first place.

And I bet he was wearing a pair of Utd red devil underpants if such a garment exist.

Bored of referees deciding the results of football matches. Leave it to the players.

Identical fouls. That's how we've lost that game.

We're on the back foot when the foul isn't given though, with a centre half out of position, that's the issue. We shouldn't have been put in that situation.

Re: Mike Dean
Lukaku knew he wasn't getting the ball and nudged Mee under it (the ball that is). It was a blatant free kick and has been ever since I've been watching football.
Matic also should have had a yellow for the block and raised arm on Barnes. Other than that he didn't do much wrong.
The assistant on the Bob Lord side was absolutely awful.

Unfortunately I'm just getting over the Australian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Martian flu so I had to watch at home. Against a mega-bucks United side we were superb today, every player! We bossed the game in large parts and only a goal of shear class separated little Burnley from Proudsville & the biggest club in the world. Ref was OK. Seen a lot worse this season.
Just wait for the next few games, the points will be coming thick and fast!

The foul on Mee by Lukaku leading to their goal was so obvious baring in mind the crap little free kicks Dean had given (both ways) all game. Although the lino was right next to him but he didn't fancy waving his flag did he?
Some of the cheating by Utd is just horrendous but not a surprise being managed by the totally classless Moaninho. The way Jose lept up to tell Lingaard to roll back on to the pitch when he was so badly injured just sums them and him up.

It was a definite push in the back on Mee for the goal and what pee's me of is the ref possibly was on the blind side but why does the dopy liner not flag to help him out who had a clear view .

He was staring at Pogba who handballed it to get it under control though - and when Vokes tried to stay up and finally went down with 2 players wrestling him ...... no foul.Lew200100 wrote:It was a definite push in the back on Mee for the goal and what pee's me of is the ref possibly was on the blind side but why does the dopy liner not flag to help him out who had a clear view .
Barnes numerous times pushed or had his shirt pulled off him nearly - nothing.
Handball in one area.
Lino giving Hendrick offside when he appeared to be on by a bit.
There were a lot of decisions today that could have changed the game.
-----
We had chances to win it though so it's our own fault after it all - Barnes should have took his shot and not took the touch - The headers late on. Putting ball out wide for JBG to cross in and having only 1 player move in to attack it was shocking - their defender should not be able to have time to take 3 touches to control a cross that came into the box.

Don't think we can blame Mike Dean for our failure to create a single clear cut chance in 90 minutes of football.

You’ll forgive me because I wasn’t at the game, I did listen on radio 5 and the Sky app seems to think we had at least a few chances - to say we failed to create any clear chances just isn’t true.jrgbfc wrote:Don't think we can blame Mike Dean for our failure to create a single clear cut chance in 90 minutes of football.

That's utter rubbish. If you'd have said De Gea didnt have much to do then fair enough. But we created chances and possibly better ones than them.jrgbfc wrote:Don't think we can blame Mike Dean for our failure to create a single clear cut chance in 90 minutes of football.
