Freekicks

Post by Bfcboyo » Sun Jan 21, 2018 9:22 am

Seems we have 3 players in Brady, Defour and Gudmonson who can all take a decent free kick and present a real goal threat from a set piece around the box.

Can anybody remember us having this many goal scoring threats from set pieces albeit Brady being out for a while?

I remember the O'Connors and Blake being able to bang em in. Not as good as these but I'm sure there were a few in that side.

They should all provide similar quality from corners/set piece deliveries into the box but we look as threatening as a startled puppy in those positions. Something to work on, particularly as we play for free kicks in those kind of positions.

I think we should try a quick free kick now and again like City did last week. Many times they are over the ball and somebody is free.

Robbie's free kick against PNE at the Bee Hole End was one of the best I've seen on the Turf.

Can't remember the season, but what a cracker.
But yes, Defour in particular has a great eye for that.

True. Usually our corners ends up as a shot on goal by the other team.

Blakes free kick away at Preston was probably the best I've ever seen Electro. They must've been sick of him.
