Bias

Post by Turftalkers mentor » Sun Jan 21, 2018 1:11 pm

Dont do it very often criticising referees but" what a performance by Mike Dean yesterday " the big six teams always seem to get the decisions , The blatant fouls and time wasting by Manchester Utd didnt do any justice to a so called big club. Aided quite comfortably by Mr Dean they made off with three points. The interview on Radio Lancashire this week seemed to back up the view that the big clubs always get the decision in their favour ,the Arsenal and Liverpool games as prime examples. on the Turf back this up. However once again for all the pressure we exerted on Utd no end product again in front of goal. I am loathe to criticise Mr Dyche in any way shape or form as I think he is the best thing to happen to this club in years. Football is about opinions but is it time for Steven Defour to be given a more forward role and direct operations with his undoubted talent and leave the ball winning ( which he also does well ) to either Westwood , Cork ,Hendrick or Marney. Just a thought but still living the dream this season .

2nd half a few decisions went against us but I'm not sure that's why we didn't get anything out of the game. Our finishing was dreadful and the alleged foul on Mee was very debatable. We weren't clinical enough which is exactly why we lost.

Commented on this during the game - we looked like we were getting fouled in midfield and defence but when I concentrated more on it their players were just bigger, faster and stronger.

There was no foul on Mee. We didn't really test De Gea all afternoon.

That's why we lost. It had nothing to do with Mike Dean. Get over it. You're starting to sound... biased (that's the OP, not you WNP!)

Don't think the ref was that bad yesterday. We need to be more adventurous at home, back to a proper 442 at home for me, with someone, who can get crosses in, ie Lennon or Nkoudou.

JBG gets plenty of crosses in. There's just no one on the end of them. :(

With a 442 you might get someone on the end of them.

Possibly, but we went 442 eventually yesterday, yet I wouldn't say we were any more threatening.

I can see the argument for it though.

When we went 442 yesterday we at least put some pressure on their defence in the last ten minutes.

Yet De Gea could still have pulled up a chair. :(

Valencia slips and shouts over to Dean, foul that Mike.

Dean - Yes, could be in a dangerous position that so I will blow for a free kick for you. I wouldn't have give had you not let me know.

Barnes gets pushed over in front of the dugouts, play on play on.

Pogba cynically pulls cork back - free kick. Ten minutes later he does the same thing, yellow card. Why wasn't the first one yellow? It was identical. He should not have been able to commit the offence as he's on card.

All likely to be true but how many times did Hendrick, Barnes, Tarkowski fluff good opportunities in and around their goal. This feeling sorry for ourselves and blaming external factors is poisonous and I very much doubt that Dyche and the players are blaming the officials for the result.

In the last third of the game I thought they did a Burnley-eqsue performance of seeing out a 1-0 win. Taking their time, picking up some yellows, injury time subs.

I wouldn't say the bigger or stronger than Tarkowski who again produced a class performance
Last season they buried, they didn't yesterday. And Dean was rubbish and definitely biased. Mourhinos lavish praise of Dean said it all.
