Re: Dyche signs ?
If true well deserved. Thank god the board have the foresight to buy into his long term vision for the club and not just the here and now which at times has produced some poor football but has been needed to get us where we are. I truly believe he is building a legacy here for which he will be remembered for years after he does leave us

at 70k a week, that should be a huge buy out clause, £10M plus.

Well done UptheBeehole
I'd heard something previously but was not as confident as you and hadn't even got an article ready. I'll await the formal announcement and then get something on site.

There are no guarantees in football, but this news is just bloody marvellous. Everything about today epitomises just how well run a football club we support from top to bottom - and how we are very much all in it together moving very definitely in one positive direction. Great, great times!

Wow. Outstanding news.
Although managers' contracts aren't worth as much as player contracts it's still a terrific show of intent on both the club and SD's behalf.

How does 3 1/2 million quid measure up to other premier league managers?
and absolutely spot on that the manager should be the top paid employee.....it will be him that gets the ulcer, not the players....utc....more brilliant business for us.

Fantastic news and well deserved for his efforts. This can only be a win/win situation for the Club and Sean.

I'll post it before abc gets here.
Far too old, we should be targeting younger managers. Tarkowski should be being groomed to take over within the next couple years.

Re: Dyche signs ?
Fantastic news that this Rolling Contract nonsense has been replaced by a proper deal covering the next 4 and a half years and that Sean Dyche has been financially rewarded for his efforts and commitment to BFC.
Hopefully this will mean that Sean is not linked with every managerial vacancy but I suspect not.
Well done Sean and the Board.

The day that keeps on giving.
I could be on for the euros tonight.
Well deserved, and we'll done the board for paying him what he deserves. It's peanuts compared to what we've made under his leadership.

Re: Dyche signs ?
In a time of extreme disloyalty and uncertainty in the game, this is great news. He has rewarded Burnley by committing and we have handsomely rewarded him. 70k a week though, not bad for a cobblers lad from Kettering.
In seriousness, he deserves it. He is the most important part of the team - even the club. And to see the club and him have the same vision is great. Hopefully he has been assured of similar levels of backing to not only progress, but do so and evolve our style of play over the coming years.
This with resigning Tarkowski, signing Lennon shows we are now progressing to the next level. We will always be at risk of losing our best players, but with the manager buying into the club so much its a great sign of intent!

I wonder what Owen Coyle makes of all this.
Re: Dyche signs ?
I could like most posts on here.
Great commitment from the gaffer and the club.
At this rate he'll still be manager when I take my young son to his first Burnley game. He can see arguably the best manager in our existence on the touch line himself.

Re: Dyche signs ?
Brilliant news but intriguing all the same.
Rolling one year deals appeared to be Dyche’s preference. I wonder what has changed and / or been agreed to enable this to happen (and I don’t think it will be just about the extra cash).
Hopefully it indicates a long stay, and not just a buy out clause, that would go only a little way to compensating for the huge loss we would have to manage, when he leaves.
What a great day though - two bits of fantastic business.

Re: Dyche signs ?
Its fantastic business, by a Chairman who is now very comfortable in the position he holds...learning curve and all that. If things come in 3...be nice if we have secured additional investment without it impacting on us as a club. Jokingly, it could be something like that, that has swayed him to sign on the dotted line.
