Lennon
Creativity, pace, willingness to run at his man - only a half hour or so but I saw enough to know he is a definite improvement on anything else we offer out wide.
Re: Lennon
We look dangerous, full of fire and magic with Lennon on, nkoudou too. He's absolute class that Lennon, changed the game. Brilliant fight in Burnley tonight, well done, happy.

Very very fast. His defensive work on a couple of occasions was as impressive as his attacking play. As stated above, he changed the game and will surely be a regular starter from here on.

Re: Lennon
His ability and willingness to beat a man gave us an extra dimension and helped open up the game.
He tracked back and won the ball 2 or 3 times too which we all know Dyche loves to see in his wingers.
A very promising debut from him, demonstrating the kind of skill and commitment we all love to see.
That was a cameo that should give Dyche a genuinely difficult decision when picking his next starting 11.

Impressed with what I saw on my poor quality stream.
Would like to see us go 4-4-2 with Vokes, Barnes and Lennon all starting.

Re: Lennon
It shouldn't be a difficult decision really, Rowls. Lennon and Lowton are clear improvements on Arfield and Bardsley. They need to be in.

Love to see him start against Citeh.
He'll give us a real outlet and, hopefully, some end product.

I think he should have started.
Newcastle were there for the taking and if we had gone for them for the start we could have easily won the game.
He played really well when he came on though.
Would definitely like to see him with Lowton as Bardsley was awful tonight and he's a red card waiting to happen.
4-4-2 would have served us well tonight with Lennon and JBG out wide.

Re: Lennon
Not sure 442 would be advisable against City though. Id still be tempted with 451 but start with Lennon instead of Arfield.

Arfield behind Barnes. Lennon starting. Hendrick centre mid.

Newcastle are a poor side though.
Man City free hit and we could play 8-7-6 and still probably still get beat !!

City will play a similar team that they did tonight
Sane was fantastic against us a few weeks ago and we all know he's not there Saturday
I hope Lennon starts in place of Arfield and hopefully tarks back we'll give it a good go

Re: Lennon
I would love to see Dyche start with Lennon on one side, GK on the other with JGB in 'the hole' leaving Hendrick replacing Westwood in the centre.
The pace we would have would force teams to defend deeper, thus creating more space.

Re: Lennon
It’s a real shame Defour is injured now we have proper pace on the wings. I was slightly disappointed (but only very slightly) with the transfer window, but I can’t wait to have everyone fit. Potential starting XI is very exciting indeed... and Lennon is key

Re: Lennon
If Defour was a player to mould a team around for the first half of this season then he surely is the player for the second half.
Threatening, deceiving, draws defenders to him. And causes havoc in the box.
Exactly what we need with 8 key players out injured. Great signing and can see his career being resurrected here for hopefully the next few years.

I was wrong on Lennon being a poor buy We have needed a pacy winger for ages and once he gets up to speed will prove a great bargain.Remember though he was often an impact sub at Everton

Re: Lennon
I don’t think he’s blessed with a great left foot, so he needs to be on the right side for me. If he’s going to catch defenders out with pace what’s the point of then losing the advantage by taking an extra second or so to switch it back into his right foot?
Re: Lennon
I will readily admit not being overjoyed when we bought him. If he can play like he did last night on a regular basis I will very willingly eat my humble pie.
Very clearly up for it, worked hard, played some good passes other lads didn't read (that will come with time), took defenders on and, yes, he's still got his pace.

Re: Lennon
For the first 15-20 mins they overran our 5 man midfield and could have been 3 goals up. So to start 442 with 2 attacking wingers would have been suicidal.
Its possible to change the game to attack close to the end especially when you are 1 down, but if we play 442 against City we will get mullered.
I think its important not to extrapolate from the last 10 mins of a game, when we were behind, to the beginning of the next game. From my position somewhere in the stratosphere last night I thought we did OK with a largely second string team, against a well motivated side who are sadly lacking in finishers but not much else.

The way he ran back and blocked off Diaz with 5 minutes left. Great player
I think he is a real sign of our progress attracting a player of his ilk.

Re: Lennon
About what I expected.
Drifted in and out, played well when he was in the game.
Very very unlucky not to score but it was a good stop.
Tracked back well at the end.
Tough game against City though so let's see what he's like next week at Swansea.

Re: Lennon
Agree with KRBFC (yikes!) - ok first half, certainly the better of the two wingers in that half. Superb down the right in the second half. Linked up terrifically with Lowton going forward and was excellent defensively. Great addition.

Re: Lennon
Excellent home debut. Good in the first half and brilliant in the second. Offers something we don't already have.
Most of all though he tracked back just as well as Arfield or Boy would have done.
Very early days yet but looks like a shrewd signing.
