Just be aware some of the language is a bit strong for the young ones (from both of them) - but very good

This is very good.
Thanks for the link. Some really good stuff that i didn't know about the man and the club.
Interesting about Winning not always being about the league table. I'd say the club is Winning at the moment in many ways.
About the half time dressing room too, good peek inside what happens there.

It's a good piece worth a listen. More a chat though.
Joey also can't resist jumping in, rather than listening. A few times he does this. He'll get better at resisting this...
No doubt there is respect from Joey for SD though.
It's Podcast 1. for Joey.
Next up Alastair Campbell.
I'll also give this a listen.
Re: 78 Min interview with Sean Dyche on Joey Barton podcast
Thanks for the link HunterST, that was ace.
The detail and depth in assessing players strengths and how to influence them positively for the overall group goal is really impressive.

After listening to that we can understand 100% every decision that Dyche makes especially the Cloughy influence; just leave it as it is as the players know what they need to do

Very listenable, well worth the time. In his loose moments, Joey calls him Gaffer, which is probably the biggest sign of respect betwixt the two.
50 minutes in is an insight into the dressing room which is pretty interesting.

I think we can all take things into the way we work listening to Sean; I know I do as a teacher of teenagers and adults take things from his interviews, and things like this are very interesting about treating people and getting to know them as individuals.

Just listened. Very insightful about the culture of the sport, philosophy, man management etc. Barton hosts it brilliantly and bring a lot to the conversation. Better than anything than the likes of Sky Sports or the BBC have ever done.

Fantastic listen. You can really hear how genuine he is when he talks. We are lucky to have had him at our club for the last 5 years and here's hoping for (at least) 5 more

Re: 78 Min interview with Sean Dyche on Joey Barton podcast
Really enjoyed this interview. Sean gave a great account of the ethos at the club and what everyone on the pitch and behind the scenes is trying their best to promote and develop. He came across as a genuinely good bloke, passionate about his football, passionate about Burnley and passionate about being a decent human being.
Joey made for a very good interviewer as well, some interesting questions and the ability to know when to add to the conversation and when to sit back and let his guest talk unimpeded. Really excellent all round and a good source of information for anybody, players or staff, that might have any future interest in joining us.
However, while I didn't find any of the swearing to be personally offensive (lets be honest we all do it and worse) a level of polite decorum needs to be maintained in all media activities. In this particular instance Sean was representing the club in the public arena and that means he should be asked to pay the required monetary fine into the swear jar or pay any applicable forfeit on the Friday wheel of fortune.
All told I counted eleven instances of colourful language, which may well add up to a dip in the River Calder, pay up that man

I don't think it matters, most footballers have big egos. It's managing them.bfc1984 wrote:Thanks to op great interview filled in nearly 90 mins at work! Wonder who the player with the big ego is? Was thinking gray but it sounded like they maybe still present.

Re: 78 Min interview with Sean Dyche on Joey Barton podcast
Thanks for bringing this up TheOriginalLongsider and Hunters for the link.
Great interview/chat with two very genuine people. It gives an insight to everything else that goes on around a team which shows it's not just about picking a formation and the players. Some on here may benefit from a listen
If anyone is struggling listening I used Hunters link above on Chrome with Adblock. When I'd listened to the intro it asked me to sign up. I ignored that and right clicked on the main interview and opened in another window and had no issues. If it helps at all, job's a good 'un, if not nay worries.

Re: 78 Min interview with Sean Dyche on Joey Barton podcast
Recommend this to anyone who wants a heads up about both Joey and SD. The great man would have passed over the job had it been a requirement to move into the area-wouldn't lie and say he would move then didn't and of course the reasons being that wife and children come first.Mr & Mrs JB expecting their third child, son up for it daughter wouldn't like a baby in the household with Mr and Mrs JB working on the daughter to come round to wanting a baby- great chat made me smile.
I agree about the language though and would have thought SD with his principles when representing the Club would have behaved; although I accept most of us use those words. At least he held back on the C word he was called at times as a player.

Listened to it on Deezer app.
Really insightful and enjoyable listen.
Tells you everything you need to know about Dyche and his values as a person.
Whilst some credit definitely needs to go to the Board for his appointment (a lot of credit) part of me thinks that they also got very lucky with this one. Don`t think we will ever see a better manager in our history.

and inquistitive as to what SD is doing and his budgets. He has always appeared fascinated by clubs that punch above their weight. You may remember how curious he was when Susan's team played them in the cup.martin_p wrote:Great interview. Interesting to hear SD talk about how giving Wenger is as a manager, surprised me that.

This is well worth a listen, Joey interviews Sean Dyche.
