Triple lucky last night
A. It wasn't a corner. Been Mee headed the first corner over.
B. Hendrick was offside directly in front of Darlow.
C. Keeper very unlucky after a good save.
Who cares....not me. We deserve a break or two.

Agree with 'A', Ben Mee headed it onto the top of the challenging defenders head, so it was a corner.conyoviejo wrote:A It was a corner

Re: Triple lucky last night
And what about the penalty we should have had when Cork was taken out?
Yes the Newcastle player slipped but he still fouled Cork in the box so we should have had our first penalty of the season.
I have lost count of the number of definite penalties we should have had this season

It's not a corner but there is no offside. And even the Sky commentator says we should have had a penalty.

That was a penalty. Not sure at the time, but MOTD showed it from a different
angle, and JC was definitely upended.

Thought the disallowed goal was very harsh too. Centre half made a right meal of it

Blatant penalty. Incompetent refereeing to not award it. Cork would have had a tap in.
Re: Triple lucky last night
With VAR we would have had a few more points this season. I think VAR would have given us penalties against West Ham, Huddersfield and Newcastle last night. I can only think of Liverpool away where VAR would have given a penalty against us. But I still don't like it. It destroys the instant delight or sorrow when a goal goes in.
Re: Triple lucky last night
Excellent control and finish from Barnes for the disallowed goal!

That might not have been a corner but Charlie Taylor was denied a quite obvious corner previously in the match.
For me we are definitely still owed a couple of lucky breaks.

Re: Triple lucky last night
We had been long overdue a change of luck in the penalty area and it happened last night, thank goodness, because the referee did nothing to help our cause during most of the game.

Re: Triple lucky last night
Blatant penalty what on earth do these referees see on the pitch that makes them decide not to give such straight forward decisions??

Dummett looked like the Icelandic guy who celebrates a goal by acting out landing a fish.

Hooper had his black and white striped undercracks on.

It was a corner, it came off the defender.
Re: Triple lucky last night
I thought it was a corner, especially from the replays, it looks like Ben has headed it, and it's flicked off the defender's head

Re: Triple lucky last night
About time we got some good fortune, always seems to be teams at the bottom end that are unlucky but Newcastle had enough chances to have the game won long before the fluke o.g but the last 20 minutes we battered them so deserved something,It is a sign of Burnley's improvement that we can perform below par yet still come away with a decent point away from home.Amazing that 2/3rds of the season have passed and we have only lost 3 out of 13 away.

Simulation by defender!!!!! Thgrew himself down, after wee touch from Barnes.mickleoverclaret wrote:Thought the disallowed goal was very harsh too. Centre half made a right meal of it

Yes I thought it was not at the time but when you see what the defender does to impede Cork, definite pen.mkmel wrote:And what about the penalty we should have had when Cork was taken out?

Yeah, better to have the decisions go against you resulting in possible relegation.Erasmus wrote:With VAR we would have had a few more points this season.
