Sean Dyche
Is the real genius. What he's done at this club is outstanding. Special mention for the board too.

Re: Sean Dyche
We where relegation favourites. In truth looking at our squad you could not argue with that. But with togetherness and heart and improving skill we are moving forward bit by bit. We are overachieving no doubt about it but you know what we deserve everything we are getting with heart and skill.
Not many clubs infact non can say like us we done it with money we have earned not been given...
We are Burnley we do it our way

I completely agree. in my eyes SD can do no wrong. Btw, that's not because I'm blind, it's because he is f*cking brilliant.

I do not know how old you are WMC but I have watched us since 1950 or maybe 51 so I have seen the highs and lows. With all the money that has come to football and the ever increasing slope on the playing field I never ever thought we would grace the Top table again after the Premier League was launched. The 2008-10 seasons were something I never expected and was not expecting Sean, Sean who? to do anything but hopefully keep us in the Championship. These last 5 years have been beyond my wildest dreams. And from 1987 when there was not even a pot to p**s in through to Barry arriving then the financial hit from ITV digital to the transfer embargo in 2009, ground sold, Gawthorpe a dump to now 7th in the Prem. League, 3rd season out of 4, Ground now ours again, new Training complex and a manager, Sean the Greatest, now committed to another 4 seasons-and as far as I can see many many pots to p**s in.

Re: Sean Dyche
Unbelievable manager bearing in mind what the two starting 11's today cost. A quick tot up (and I may be out a bit) and I make it £33 mill Burnley and £300mill City

Incidentally, did anyone see Billy Mercer and Pep going at it with
each other after the game on the pitch?
Guardiola getting quite agitated.

Re: Sean Dyche
I'm 40 mdd and have been watching us since 1982. 1st actual memories are '87 but the rise since then has been remarkable considering we've been in trouble financially on and off. The last 5 years I NEVER thought I'd see happen. I get jealous with the stories that the older generation tell, seeing us in Europe, FA Cup finals etc etc. But now it's all generations turn to enjoy. Keep up the work Sean and the board. You have my appreciation more then you know.mdd2 wrote:I do not know how old you are WMC but I have watched us since 1950 or maybe 51 so I have seen the highs and lows. Re: Sean Dyche
Made several good decisions and one poor decision today:
Good decisions
4-4-2 lineup with Barnes and Vokes up front worked well
Playing Hendrick before Arfield and Westwood
Playing Lennon from the start
JBG and Lennon switching wings early in second half
Poor decision
Playing Bardsley before Lowton. Bardsley is a good defender but doesn't offer any attacking threat. Had he not been injured he would have played the whole match and we would probably have lost.
An excellent manager who, like the players, is improving all the time.

Re: Sean Dyche
Agree about Bardsley mala. I think Lowton has got his place back. The delivery for JBG's goal was superb. He kept Sterling quiet too. Lennon and Lowton could be a really good partnership. I have been hoping for us to go with 442 for the past couple of games. We've hit our target of staying up and now we can try different tactics etc if things aren't working out for us.
Re: Sean Dyche
What i likr is that he recognises that despite being a small town, Burnley is wholly a football town. There are much bigger places with no team at all.

Re: Sean Dyche
There was nothing aggressive about that, watched it on my stream - they were having a chat and as we have seen previously Pep gets very animated when he is enthusiastic - suspect Mercer was talking to him about the quality of his keeper both on the ball and his shot stopping skills. Both were smiling broadlyElectroClaret wrote:Incidentally, did anyone see Billy Mercer and Pep going at it with

Re: Sean Dyche
Had the bizarre and unexpected pleasure of bumping into the great man in Stafford Services gents toilets on my way back down here today ! Gave me the chance to thank him for the job he is doing, after exchanging positive opinions about the quality of Lowton's cross and JBG's finish. AN unexpected cherry on top of an already very good day.
