Lascelles - Main summer target?

If Newcastle go down we should be all over this lad. He seems a perfect fit

Agreed - he's a good player. He's their captain and only 24 so he obviously has some good qualities. Has scored 3 goals this season and clearly offers a threat from set pieces.

Has developed well since Newcastle signed him from Forest, one of Benitez's better signings who has moved up to PL standard.

100% agree but if Forest were wanting 20 million for Worrell then I don't think we stand a chance of getting him

I reckon we’ll be back for Worrall in Summer. The fact that we were bidding until nearly the end of the last day indicates that we may have well actually already agreed on terms with the Player himself(or his agent) and that Forest were trying to push us because the clock was ticking. He’ll be utterly bored by Forest’s lower mid table finish by May and will most likely be pushing to come to a Club with a reputation for developing talent like his.

I should imagine as captain, that Lascelles will be on big money. I like him too, but I wouldn't break our wage structure to get him

AK will make life as difficult for us as possible on this transfer - but he will want to spend in the summer - just look at his transfer record with boro let alone last week at Forest - FFP means he will have to balance the books

if the rumours are to be believed, he is on around 15k a week. Think the daily star leaked a lot of the Newcastle teams wages last year.

Imagine it would take a substantial fee to get him from Newcastle.
Not sure if he is worth more than 10m based on this seasons performances. Don’t think he would be considered in the top 15 english CBs, that’s saying a lot since the pool is pretty poor

I wonder how much it would take to prise the chairman's son away from Boro ?

Ben Gibson (if you mean him, though I think he is the Chairman's nephew not son) has been poor this season.

That's the one - best to take players when they're not at the top of their game. They're then ripe for Dycheisation.
