Re: Change of car
Ford Edge. None of the French rubbish with black plastic coated all over the doors and arches but well within a reasonable price for an SUV.
Personally, I would go for the Ranger Black Edition. So much vehicle for only £26k.

Re: Change of car
French rubbish? Think you need to start looking at what France is coming out with these days, some very highly rated cars (e.g. 3008) that will be a lot more wallet friendly that the Ranger. Currently having an expensive to run 4*4 I'd certainly entertain some of that rubbish.

I've owned french rubbish in the past.Lee72 wrote:French rubbish? I've seen the crappy french 'suv' crossovers like the kadjar and that hideous Citroen with the bumpy black plastic stuck on the doors. I'll give you the 3008, that is not a bad looking car, but it still has the shoddy build quality and reliability of a peugeot.
Re: Change of car
I've had a Citroen (recently-ish) and a Renault in the past - can honestly say they were no worse than the fords or Vauxhall's I've owned - although to be fair both were near new so maybe problems hadn't surfaced. Or maybe I was just lucky but given the partnerships between manufacturers these days half of what you getting with the badge is where they are assembled rather than the parts themselves.
Think that Ranger needs bigger Alloys (yes, I know it won't go as well off road but who buys them for that anyway?)

That said, French cars are bentleys compared to Fiats.

In my opinion the Peugeot 3008 is the best SUV out there.
But sadly it is out of my price range

They are door handles. Most, if not all cars have them.UpTheBeehole wrote:It's literally got

What about the mess on the bonnet?Foshiznik wrote:They are door handles. Most, if not all cars have them.
Sack that, what about the bonnet?
No. Just what about the car in general. It looks like a car a 5 year old would draw.

I really like it. Very unique. I could put a few of my own touches on it.Foshiznik wrote:What's wrong with it? It's unique and looks great.
Would you be looking to sell?
Re: Change of car
If you want off road capability many SUVs are poor unless they really are 4 wheel drive.
If you don't other than having mobility problems or small children I can't really see why anyone would want one.

I still can't get my brain round the fact that some French cars are fitted with bed headboards right down the side. What the hell's all that about.

Depends on the sort of motoring you're doing, the Ranger can be a bit of an arse to park in town centres, though there is the very obvious tax liability advantages if it's your company vehicle.Foshiznik wrote:Ford Edge. Edge is a great shout, buy a 9 month Vignale with under 10k and save yourself a ton of depreciation, they're a mega thing to own and drive though, factory engine upgrade and auto are a must though.

Re: Change of car
If you're purchasing a car using PCP finance, it's definitely worth doing your research on the monthly payments.
If you're buying a nearly new car you'll of course pay a lot less for the car, but with brand new cars, interest rates tend to be much lower (e.g. 3% instead of 8%) and dealerships often offer massive deposit contributions as well.
http://www.carwow.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is certainly worth a go too.
Choose your car and your spec and dealers will send you offers.

Re: Change of car
Yes sir. I spent £1k on modifying it, but would be willing to sell the car with the mods for £100 (£20 without the mods).starting_11 wrote:I really like it. Very unique. I could put a few of my own touches on it.
