Re: Do some supporters seriously think we might be in danger of going down?
No I don't think we will. Let's remember we don't have many difficult games now but we need to change the way we play and not sit back and nick a 1-0. We need to attack willingly
Re: Do some supporters seriously think we might be in danger of going down?
No but how sh** was that to watch? surely you understand the frustration..... we didn't even try to beat Swansea, set up for a 0-0 from kick off. Boring... If we're not going down then it's more of a chance to take risks, try to win 3 points, it effectively doesn't matter if we lose.

Depends. If we keep giving points to those below us, it could very easily happen.

Re: Do some supporters seriously think we might be in danger of going down?
Only due to our early season form.
We're still not entirely out of the woods but we're unlikely to go down, despite our actually abysmal form.

We'd have top lose every game to have the slightest chance. 1-2 points to be totally sure.starting_11 wrote:Depends. If we keep giving points to those below us, it could very easily happen.

I don't think we'll go down, but I don't think we'll finish anywhere near 7th, either.

No. But I never suggested otherwise.Spijed wrote:Which with our budget and wages is it really surprising?
Re: Do some supporters seriously think we might be in danger of going down?
No, but that doesn’t justify just how poor we are playing in these games. Our pre-Christmas points cushion should have given us the opportunity to push on and be a little more adventurous. Our Manager’s intransigent ratiocination is leading our season into disappointment and sterility.

Re: Do some supporters seriously think we might be in danger of going down?
No but no side has ever managed not to finish in the top half the same position and points we had after the Stoke game.
We will probably break that record.
Serious chance we could have a hangover next season, we really are crawling to the line.
But the approach has been the same since day dot, if no win in 10 doesn't make you go for it at freefall Newcastle, nothing will

Re: Do some supporters seriously think we might be in danger of going down?
No we won’t go down. The way we go about certain games when we are virtually safe with 12 games left is very confusing too say the least though. The lad from Spurs may as well go back if he can’t get on the pitch before Arfield when we are drawing 0-0 with Swansea...

Re: Do some supporters seriously think we might be in danger of going down?
I look at it this way ref Dyche..
We have the lowest wage budget or in the bottom 3, we are tipped to be bottom 3. We have a bottom 5 playing squad in terms of ability.
But we have a manager and a ethos with bar maybe a couple iof sides is top class.
Crap today and on a few days but lets be honest the players are of average ability he just get the maximum out of them.
Today i think it was negative.

Disagree on all 3. Wages probably bottom five, bookies probably borderline bottom 3. Playing squad is not bottom 5 either.watsonsclarets wrote:I look at it this way ref Dyche..

Injuries playing a big part but I'd rather we went for it than sat back when we have nothing to lose

Re: Do some supporters seriously think we might be in danger of going down?
I think the squad ability alone is bottom 5. (I'm talking technical ability)
We where tipped to go down by all bookies start of the season.
Wages think only maybe Huddersfield would pay less.
We have something special at the club.

Re: Do some supporters seriously think we might be in danger of going down?
Is it just me who expected nothing else today. Swansea are on the up and must be one of our bogey sides of recent years. I would like to see the catch 'em early aggression return though. I don't think it is any co-incidence the number of points we picked up when teams were forced to re-think their game plans.

Re: Do some supporters seriously think we might be in danger of going down?
None of the above matter. At 3pm today we kicked off against Swansea we were on 36 points with 12 games left, So why not release the shackles a bit. The substitution was ridiculous at 0-0.watsonsclarets wrote:I think the squad ability alone is bottom 5. (I'm talking technical ability)

Re: Do some supporters seriously think we might be in danger of going down?
We haven't hit 40 points yet so anything is possible in this league.
We should be fine and I suspect we will be but something needs to change in our set up and sooner rather than later.
Please tell me Wood is back soon??

Since when has 40 points been required for safety?Sidney1st wrote:We haven't hit 40 points yet so anything is possible in this league.

A mythical figure that has no relation to the actual reality of what's required.

There are only one more set of fixtures between now and the end of the month and we're six points above 12th place.biggles wrote:guarantee? really? i do hope we are

We were effectively safe at the start of December. 0 wins in 11 is absolutely dreadful though no matter what level of football you’re looking at.

Re: Do some supporters seriously think we might be in danger of going down?
We already have two more points (36) than would have been required to keep us up
last season, if that's all we'd got.(34) And there's around a third of the season left.
There's no reason to think the points needed to stay up this time will be
hugely different. Maybe two or three more.
There's not the slightest chance we'll go down.

Re: Do some supporters seriously think we might be in danger of going down?
I don't think I've seen anyone saying that we'll go down.
I did see someone say we've been in relegation form recently, which is true. That's definitely not the same as anyone saying we'll go down.
It's only the same as us saying we showed promotion form to escape relegation in 1998.

No chance we will go down but would be nice to see some decent performances and one or two wins before the seasons end.

Out in Swansea tonight and getting a bit of stick from Swans but"we are 7th in best league on the world " shuts them up.
A bit of perspective is required at the moment.
Yes today could have been better but gone are the days of losing 6-5 on a Tuesday night.
