Lowton 6
Taylor 7 Did well battled well nothing going forward
Mee 6 Sloppy in possession
Long 7 Looked decent got a good turn of pace
Lennon 5 Played to narrow offered a glimpse towards end of 1st half faded.
JBG 5 Looked slow and sluggish one decent shot.
Cork 5 Looked off the pace KYS bypassed him time and time again
Hendricks 5 Lacks confidence and gave the ball away in silly areas.
Barnes 6 Help ball up but it did not stick as well and was often isolated
Vokes 5 Poor shooting won a few headers looks low on confidence

Arfield 5 Offered very little.

Pope - 7 nonchalantly catching the ball from close range when he was already moving across goal was our best moment of the match

Lowton - 7 fine

Long - 7 fine

Mee - 7 fine

Taylor - 7 fine

Cork - 6

Hendrick- 5

Lennon - 6

Gudmundsson - 5

Barnes - 4

Vokes - 5

Watched on a stream so no real individual comments as you dont see the full pitch.

Awful game between two poor teams; 0-0 would have flattered both sides. We had the better of it though until the Lennon sub, which changed the game as we lost some threat and invited them on to us more.

We badly miss Defour and really the whole squad looks like in needs this break. Expecting us to come back nicely refreshed and put a few wins together. No real worries about the 10 game winless streak as you have to put these things into context with who we've played.

That's as poor as we've been today though.

Pope 6 nothing to do, wrong footed for the goal
Lowton 6 quiet
Taylor 7 mom, did well
Mee 7 solid enough
Long 7 as Mee
Hendrick 5 gave the ball away a bit, can't shoot, tackle or pass with any sort of quality. Offers zero
Cork 6 epitomised average
JBG 6 decent set play and 2 snap shots. Only real none threat
Lennon 5 offered nothing
Barnes 6 limitations show every week in the final 3rd. Won't score enough to keep you up
Vokes 6 quiet, possibly had 1 cross to attack all afternoon, didn't play to his strengths
Arfield 5 offered nothing

Dyche 4 set up for nil.
Seemed 1 manager wanted to win and changed it to effect the result, the other wanted a clean sheet and paid the price.
Awful tactics, awful approach, awful preformance we got what we deserved.

That 'break' was the one thing you picked out of what I said shows your lack of understanding.

5 players who started today started in midweek for Swansea started today and the midweek game was little more than a training session so that's irrelevant, especially as they were just as poor as us.

But yes, a break. We look a bit jaded and could do with some time to refresh.

Pope 5- Not much to do but some of the worst kicking I've ever seen miss Heatons distribution.
Lowton 6
Long 7- Thought he had one of his best games but again we concede with him in the team
Mee 7
Taylor 9 MOM
JBG 6- Wasnt as influential as he can be but again our most creative outlet
Hendrick 3- Has one of the worst 10 mins id ever seen, I'd get him out the team
Cork 6
Lennon 6
Vokes 5
Barnes 5

Arfield 4- he isn't going to come on and win us a game unless hes behind the striker for me
Wells needs more minutes as does GKN who hasnt come here to be 4th choice winger

Dyche again isn't using his bench properly, as soon as we went 1-0 down and Vokes had already gone I knew we were finished.

Shambles

Pope 5 Nothing to do and kicking was shocking....again
Lowton 5 Invisible
Long 8 Solid
Mee 6 poor distribution. Just hit long balls to nobody
Taylor 8 His best game so far
Lennon 4 Never in the game
Cork 7 Wasnt great but was a 1 man midfield
Hendrick 3 Because I cant give 2
JBG 5 started ok then disappeared
Barnes 5 off his game
Vokes 4 out of touch

Arfield 4 Invisible

We need the upcoming break to get some injured players back. They all look like they need a week off. We need a win and soon. Confidence looks to be evaporating and today we were beaten by a very poor team

We really don't. We've gone since practically the start of November with just one free weekend and with our squad, and the injuries we've piled up, some time out will do us some good.

At least a couple of those injured should be back to give us a lift by the next game and we'll have had some time to recharge and do some work on the training ground.

Mee 8 - impassive
Taylor 8 (mom) - veey good again
Gudmundsson 7 - lively enough
Cork 5 - below par
Hendrick 5 - looks bereft of confidence
Lennon 6 - not as lively as against City
Barnes 5 - wasteful
Vokea 5 - no threat at all
Arfield 5 - disappointing

What an awful game and awful performance. I thought the 88th minute summed it up. We desperately need a goal and we are passing it sideways and backwards, lose possession, they almost score, Pope kick goes into touch. Fair play to Swansea though, they were up for it, changed their game around.

Pope - 7 - little to do and did it okay
Lowton -6 - didn't always get the cover he needed, but a disappointing return as a starter
Long - 7 - thought he was one of the few to come out with any credit
Mee - 7 - did fine, must be frustrated.
Taylor - 7* - our best player today IMO
Lennon - 5 - very disappointing, didnt offer anything going forward and not enough cover either
Cork - 7 - sometimes he looked like he was the only Claret midfielder
Hendrick - 4 - thought he was woeful today, I cannot understand how he wasnt taken off
JBG - 6 - some decent set pieces but that is all
Vokes - 5 - what could he do? I dont see that playing two up front justifies hoofball
Barnes - 5 - see Vokes

Can't get over how awful that was to watch.

Taylor seems to be getting good marks when it was his aimless hoof forward resulted in their goal ?

Well that was just what we all wanted. A performance to bring all the claretsmad community together in a warming embrace. NOT!!!!!! This will be a tin hat thread!

Pope 6 He was average
Lowton 6 HE was average too.
Long 7 Thought he had a GOOD game overall.
Mee 6 average by his usually high standards.
Taylor he had a VERY GOOD game so by the parameters of the ratings an 8 MOM

Lennon After the Man City performance thought he was below par so that would be a 5
Cork 7 thought compared to others he had a GOOD game
Hendrick I think he has been below par (4) for weeks and yesterday was worse so therefore a 3.
Gudmundsson WAY below par for him so that would be a 5, wouldn`t it?

Barnes 7 good
Vokes 6 started promisingly but faded.

Incredibly negative fayre from Dyche. It wasn`t working (if we wanted 3 points) and his substitutions were nothing more than a holding pattern.

From a dodgy stream..

Pope 6. Not much to do, no chance with the goal
Taylor 7.5 Mom for me
Mee 7 A walk in the park
Long 7 As above
Lowton 7 As above
JBG 7 Prob our best threat
Hendrick 6 Nothing more to say
Cork 6 As above
Lennon 6 As above
Barnes 6 No goal threat
Vokes As above

(Another) negative, lack lustre performance against a very 'meh' home team.

Yes, Swansea have picked up form recently but 1 goal was always going to win this game and we were good enough on paper to get it, unfortunately goals aren't scored on paper.

Pope 6 kicking  just don't know what to expect. Had little to do though.
Taylor 8 for me was MOM yesterday. Will be a massive player. Has huge potential. Finally showing what Leeds fans had been raving about.
Long 8 ran him close(and if I'm not mistaking apart from spurs game) he has been in the top 3 for MOM going by the voting polls each week. Fair play to the lad and he's clearly turned a few opinions on this site. As with Taylor just goes to show what a run of a few games can do.
Mee 7 didn't put a foot wrong and as with the whole defence didn't have much to do. People go on about distribution on this site as if defenders are meant to be the ones creating things. Week after week I see it been mentioned. Long last week poor distribution Mee this week poor distribution. There DEFENDERS for God's sake. There job is to defend. Constantly our midfielders turn there backs on our defenders instead of actually dropping and looking for the ball. A massive gripe of mine.
Lowton 6
Cork 6 usual graft.
Hendrick 5 thought his shot in the 1st half was a great chance but seems his confidence is shot at the moment. Not suprised really with half the crap he has to put up with on here. Sadly his best contribution was his yellow card which broke up there attack.
Gudmundsson 6 tried his best
Lennon 5 tried but little impact and rightly subbed
Barnes and vokes 6 few panicked snap shots and again caused a few problems but no goals to show for it sadly. Creativity is lacking big time and no striker in the world at the moment would be getting goals in this team.
Subs 5 little impact by all 3.

For me midfield really needs to start upping it's game as clearly that's our weakness at the moment. Midfielders need to start looking for the ball to feet and strikers in return. Work from the basics.

No problem with ratings as that's your opinion but the
Long comment. We concede with him in the team again. A fact yes but a rediculous statement. What in all honesty could he have done about that goal yesterday? If I'm not mistaking was he not the only one to make an attempt to block it. Very easy target on this site. It was Tarks at the start of the season when Keane had left and seems Long just takes over that mantle. Had a great game yesterday but as usual takes the slack for the loss.

I don't understand why Dyche started with such an attacking positive formation and then went so negative.
I thought we did OK 1st half with Jbg on the left and Lennon on the right, 2nd half we changed it and we never threatened

Pretty poor all round today. Well of the pace and a few players will benefit from a break.

Pope 6 Great reaction save from one of the Ayews in the 2nd half but poor kicking again.
Lowton 4 Very poor 1st half when he lost Olsen time and again.
Long 7 This run in the side has shown us that he is defensively sound. Doesn't offer much going forward though and a tad edgy when pressed.
Mee 7 Solid game from Mr Dependable.
Taylor 8 Perhaps the one shining light today as he put in a shift and gave Dyer nothing.
Lennon 5 Perhaps I'm being harsh because we didn't really give him the ball very often as we didn't have it.
Hendrick 5 Not the best match.
Cork 5 Way off the pace.
Gudmundsson 6 One great delivery from a set piece that we should have done better with.
Barnes 5 Battled but Swansea have some big defenders and we crucified our front two with long ball after long ball.
Vokes 5 See Barnes

As a footnote we have found Swansea a tough nut to crack and I can see why. They are solid at the back and play it nicely out of defence and run at the opposition directly. This upset Burnley throughout and I for one thought we did well to not concede until late on as they were on top all match. Today was a day when we really missed that spine of Tarks, Defour and Wood with the guile of Brady.

What? Do you mean he is playing poorly week in week out because his confidence is shot and that is due to comments on a fans forum message board?

Did not see or hear any of the game yesterday, but looking at the scores he had another stinker. It really is getting to the point where he needs dropping for a while.

`Blaming` peoples` observations on here for part of the reason Hendrick`s confidence is shot is a classic!!!!! A highly paid professional footballer getting the kleenex out because a few FANS criticise his performances? Yeah, OK. I wish someone would pay me north of 20,000 a week (and God only knows what in staying up bonus!!!!!) to play football. People could say what the hell they like. IN my opinion and many others Hendrick has been way off the pace now for a good 6 or 7 weeks. It`s incredible he`s still in the team, in my opinion (SORRY, Jeff, but nature of the beast when it comes to football). He was but now hasn`t been for a while offering anything (other than 30 minutes or so against City last week) either in a creative sense or a physical presence.

Of course he is a good footballer or he wouldn`t be playing in the Premier League but ALL players suffer dips in form and get dropped (Pogba last week). It was a perfect opportunity to either play Arfield or Gudmundsson in the hole and put Lennon on Nkoudou on the wing (they can interchange whilst on the pitch). Dyche`s loyalty (blind at times, in my opinion) is one of his greatest strengths of course, engendering a wonderful team ethos, but at times a big weakness and right now it just seems like belligerence in the case of Hendrick.

10 games without a win is no good in any divison and it seems Dyche can do no wrong with certain posters on here - at another club in this league his job would be hanging by a thread but we know we do it differently and will hopefully turn it around.

10 games without a win is no good in any divison and it seems Dyche can do no wrong with certain posters on here - at another club in this league his job would be hanging by a thread but we know we do it differently and will hopefully turn it around.
not sure what the manager has got to do with it, i don't speak for him, but i certainly mentioned injuries when we played city - it made the result even better.
(incidentally, he did mention injuries and the break before the swansea game which was after the city game)

10 games without a win is fine in this division when you've played almost all the top six, taken points from 2 of them and drawn some difficult away games, especially with our injury list. fortunately our board and most of our fans appear to look at things in context. dyche can and does do wrong, for example, the lennon sub on saturday, which was in my post you quoted originally. its not the sort of error thats going to define our season though.

Pope 7- not a lot to do and no chance with goal.
Lowton 6- olsson gave him hard time in first half but got better as game wore on.
Long 7- steady if unspectacular guilty of to many long balls.
Mee 6- partly to blame for goal, sometimes clearances are not the best.
Taylor 6- Got further forward when Lennon went off but crossing was awry.
Cork 6- A couple of strong runs.
Hendrick 6- lost possession a lot but still better in central midfield.
Gudmondson 8- played well needs to to do more of the taking the full back on like he did early on in game.
Lennon 6- starved of quality ball. We need to play through wingers more so they can provide quality service.
Barnes 6- uncompromising as ever but needs better service.
Vokes 6- good shot on the turn but didn't win many aerial duels. Again would be better if crosses came rather than many long balls.
Arfield 6- Threat went when he came on and helped Swansea to go for it.
Wells 5- gave up on a couple of occasions. That said needs more time than the odd 5 mins here and there.
Nkoudou n/a - should have been first sub. He's not going to be impressed and hardly motivated if only getting odd minutes

Late entry as been away

Pope 6 nothing to do really
Lowton 6 average - tried a couple of times going forward
Taylor 8* one bright point of the game
Mee 6 not as good as usual, nearly cost us with one bad pass
Long 7 generally good again
Hendrick 5 MIA
Cork 5 not much better than Hendrick
JBG 5 not his best
Lennon 5 as above
Barnes 6 hard work for the two up front when long balls constantly being hoofed up and nowt else
Vokes 6 see above
Arfield 5 no impact

as bad as we've been this year. Missing Defour and Brady as we don't look to have any composure or creativity
