Curling drug testing . . .
Curling drug testing . . .
Do you think the curling teams get drug tested and apart from getting stoned, sorry..., what enhancing drugs could they use ? If any of you were in a team would you want to be a pusher or a sweeper?

Laxatives are a must for curling. Not sure if they are on the banned list

They will be tested - no doubt - very physical (for the sweepers) short intense bursts of activity, compounded with Chess like strategy and shot accuracy of shooting as well as the psychology of talking openly about the games progress during your team's "thinking time". All kinds of options on the drug front there

Re: Curling drug testing . . .
There's probably a few drugs the sweepers could take.
Just imagining a wired junky scrubbing the floor.

When they miss the target it's known as curling one out.

Maybe they're high on perm solution?
Re: Curling drug testing . . .
I competed in the English National championship back in 2011 (in the curling world this is dog and pony), and I had to sign a form about conforming to the sports drug code.
Curling isn’t divided between shooters and sweepers, as everyone does both. It’s not like bowling, or bowls in that you can take it up right away, as it takes some practice to shoot and sweep. “Housework on acid” as one BBC presenter described it when it first joined the Olympiad. There’s a lot more to it than merely sliding down the ice, though that is exactly what you have to master - in shooting and sweeping. This is why old people like it.

You have to be able to stand and move on ice first! Then comes using a broom on ice and finally, getting a large piece of Ailsa Craig to go where you want It!

It's a smashing game to watch with the various tactics involved. Just watched the GB Ladies win a very tight match against China which went to an extra end. They now have 2 wins and 1 defeat so far.

We have at least one drug now that seems to be a benefit - meldonium - a la Sharapova
