I’ve seen this Thunderstruck thread floating around the forum for a while but only opened it this morning. There is nothing I can say which has already been said.

If there’s anything you need - wether it be helping fund friends and family to see you or sending something from here over to you, I’m sure as a collective we can help make it happen.

Earlier this week one of your former school friends told me about your heartbreaking news. I browse this site on a regular basis but had not realised who Canada Claret was. Steve,I will always remember our meeting just a few years ago when you and your wife and the aforementioned friend and his wife together with myself were given a tour of the ground and then had a photo taken of the five of us in the Bob Lord Stand. So many fellow Clarets have posted heartfelt words on here because of your continued support for the club. For you to have followed your home town team from your Canadian home is typical of a true Claret. My thoughts and feelings echo those of all of the previous posters and I will always remember meeting you and enjoying your company. Peace and love to you and your family Steve.

Just had a message from Canada claret who is in hospital now and will get the final results on Tuesday but he is not hopeful. He's asked for an extra cheer on his behalf against Southampton. Let's make an extra noise just for Steve xx

It's one of those moments in your life when you really don't know how you feel, or what to say.

Even though I've never met ClaretCanada (well, that I know of), he's always been a great poster on here, and Up The Clarets over the last couple of years has become more than just a place to post messages. It's not just that. It's a place where you've got to know people without needing to physically meet them. In a way, we're all part of a family because we all support Burnley.

A bit of a strange idea I guess but I’ve heard a lot of people talking about cannabis oil. If you’re interested there’s a lot of info on google about it, there’s nothing to lose if you do decide to try it!

I wish you all the best. Keep fighting. UTC
Mrs mentioned this and her friends gran is still about 2 years after she was given 6 weeks. I didnt want to post it as I am sure he is aware of it and I didnt want to play doctor. But you are right to mention it zesty.

Claret Tony, I dont think I know Steve ( CanadaClaret) but feel like I have a lot in common with him ( age and emigrated to North America). Like many others his article hit me hard. So I just wondered if you thought it appropriate to run with an article or a maybe a banner headline asking members to
STAY CLARETS STRONG for STEVE. It might just help you never know. If its not possible then no problem.

We saw the oncologist this morning and he has pencilled in a chemo appointment for next week, so that will start then provided his secondary issues improve a bit. They want him a bit stronger.
His heart rate is stabilized with meds, his breathing needs to improve a little (a little more mobility like sitting up or walking will help with that) lungs sound very good (but still 2 days of the 7 day treatment of antibiotics still to go) the meds for the blood clot has reached therapeutic levels (meaning his heart rate and blood pressure are working together within a proper range, he has been on IV for that and can now switch to daily injections) so once all the above reach required expectations he will be able to start chemo next week and hopefully (cross fingers) be home in the next few days.

We know it’s terminal so with palliative treatment we will take it .....
One day at a time and keeping positive

Just read this post, Wow, what horrible, horrible news. You've clearly gotten to many of us on here, and indirectly brought everyone together in doing so.
