I could be wrong but I think Refs only ever write details on the yellow card not the red, so I reckon he was always going to show Delph a red but got himself mixed up so continued to scribble on the back of his yellow before flashing the red. Either way I thought it was a sending off in line with Guardiola's wishes that refs protect ALL players, not just his remember!

Well done Wigan.

Cannot understand these pundits who decide that Delph's lunge - foot up and takes leg - is not a sending off.

They are blind to these top teams in the prem. Ref had to upgrade too!

What’s shearer talking about with Aguero there?

Wigan fan says something to Aguero, then the Argentine throws an elbow at him before having to be dragged away.

Shearers response? “well you don’t know what he’s said to Aguero there and it’s not nice when fans come on the pitch saying stuff to you. Let’s hope everyone is ok...”

Aye Alan, let’s hope poor little Sergio didn’t hurt his elbow on that fans nose.

Thing is though it's illegal for fans to run on the pitch in that situation and the supporter is likely to face a life ban. You simply can't have fans running up to players in a threatening manner.

If a player ever punched a supporter there's probably very little the supporter could do about it as they are breaking the law.

Whilst I agree the fan shouldn’t be there, I’m not sure saying something to him is a ‘threatening manner’ nor does it warrant Aguero trying to bust the lads face within an elbow/punch.

If the knobhead fan goes for the punch first a la Westwood and the horsebotherer then fair play. Aside that, we’re looking at Cantona territory with fans gobbling off and players attacking them. Apart from Aguero wont be banned for 8 months, of course.

It's a royal fix. It will be Brighton v Wigan in the final so no one will be interested and all the nations interest will be focused on Harry's big day.

What a wonderful night for football, and it shows why the magic of the FA cup is alive and well. Perhaps it will force a bit of humility on the plastic City fans whether they like it or not. Happy days and well done Wigan.
