Re: Your spring photos
Final pics from my walks (unless I find somewhere else to go). They are all a bit similar and, other than sheep, nothing much around although I did see a couple of kestrels yesterday.
Just amazed, after living here for 30 years, I've found this area so close to my own front door.

I’ve loved them. When I was a fell runner, living at Loveclough, they were regular training runs for me.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 11:37 amFinal pics from my walks (unless I find somewhere else to go). Is the last one up near the singing ringing tree? If so I came down there on my bike, chain jumped off, locked up my back wheel and I skidded all the way down to the Bull & Butcher junction. Miraculously I kept it upright and suffered no injuries. The repair bill hurt though.

Re: Your spring photos
Didn’t quite get up to the singing ringing tree. Walked up from the Bull & Butcher to just before the res and then over the top to Crown Point. Then home via Woodplumpton & Glen View Roads. Last pic is coming down Woodplumpton Road.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 12:30 pmI’ve loved them. When I was a fell runner, living at Loveclough, they were regular training runs for me.

Just about to set off for today’s walk but won’t be as far.

Between Crown Point and Clowbridge Reservoir. Just got home from today’s walk to the res but it was a nightmare walking round with flies everywhere.

You’ve taught me something. I always thought the singing, ringing tree was by the cattle grid, at the golf course end. Checking on maps I learn it is accessed from the other cattle grid.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 4:02 pmBetween Crown Point and Clowbridge Reservoir. It was built after we’d moved on.

They are flowering early, probably because of the April weather.

LOL, I’m clearly a retard. Posting a picture is beyond me and the FAQ Help is dross. It’ll be mid summer/autumn before these wild garlic woodland pics get an airing. I’m sure you can imagine it, so I won’t bother.
Re: Your spring photos
We've had near perfect weather for plant growth this spring, it's been wonderful, some good rain in February and half of March, then a constant few weeks of sun with temperatures hitting +25° and now back to April rain until next week where the weather is predicted to shoot up to 30°. The fruit trees are full of flowers, no frost for over a month (fingers crossed no more until the last frost date, roughly three weeks to go), my friend's polytunnel already has flowers on his tomatoes, cucumbers, melons, ripe strawberries, raspberries already budding etc. It will be my fourth summer here and it's been the best spring, by far, that I've experienced.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 9:07 pmThey are flowering early, probably because of the April weather.

Re: Your spring photos
Enjoy this thread, especially the walks photos. Sadly can't do my long runs anymore, but while I am stuck on extended furlough I'm trying to do a regular 1-hour walk along Wissahickon Creek that doesn't involve me having to drive anywhere. Top pic shows Walnut Street Bridge which was the highest concrete-structure bridge in the world when it opened in 1908, (very educational is the Beehole End ) other 2 are sections the Creek trail.
