Agree on this. More than a n adequate replacement for defour. His passing movement and even crossing was first rate.

I also like him but I think with Defour out, we have severe limitations with regards incisive forward passing through the middle of the park and it makes us very easy to contain. With the Belgian maestro and Brady in the team, we are a different animal completely.

He is indeed a fantastic player and possibly our best player this season but yesterday was an off day for the Iceman. The whole team, in fairness, looked stuck in low to mid gears.

We've well and truly lost the momentum we had in the first half of the season, and we look like a team who can't wait for the season to end.

That's two games in a row now where Dyche's decision making has been suspect, and we've dropped points again because of it.

They need to deliver a performance next week. We can't continue coasting along like this until the end of the season.

Pope 8 - brilliant save. Butland with another mistake yesterday. Trying to be as unbiased as possible but is there an English keeper who has played as well as Pope this season ? Would not be surprised if Southgate was here to watch him yesterday.
Lowton 7 - solid. Could have got forward more.
Mee 7 - looked comfortable.
Long 7 - ditto
Ward 7 - like he'd never been away.
Lennon 6 - little came off for him but he has a great attitude, never gives up and never shirks a challenge or trying to be positive with his play.
Cork 6 - got caught on the ball a few too many times
Hendrick 6 - quiet first half but good in second.
JBG 6 - not up to recent high standards
Westwood 8* - very good game
Barnes 6 - led the line well enough. Game was crying out for 4-4-2 today though as their centre backs were poor and Barnes needed more support next to him. With Wood or Vokes on the pitch and maybe one winger rather than two they were there for the taking.

I watched the whole game again this morning and Mee and Ward probably deserved 6 each ( not 5 ). They were average so 6 it is. Other than Pope I still could not see anybody who was above average.
