The fan behind you

Post by bartons baggage » Sat Feb 24, 2018 6:47 pm

I always hear some pearls of wisdom, but today's effort was exceptional,he was convinced that Dyche doesn't give a toss now he's got a long contract.
What's the fans behind you like?

I wasn't at today's game, but usually the blokes right behind me are alright and level headed.

Same can't be said for someone else a few more rows back, he's a looney.

I've heard that too recently, with the follow up of "he only signed it because no one else wanted him and he knows he will get the chop from us if this football and run carries on into next year"

Also in the toilet today 1 chap mentioned, "I cant put up with another 4 and a half years of this sh1t, I dread coming on"

A bit knee jerk, but things do tend to get stale and mundane the longer they go on.
I think we missed a massive opportunity to freshen things up, give the whole club a lift and kick on by not spending any money in the window,

A range of comments from today.

"This is system is sh!t". The same system that has got us to 7th..

"Worst ball boys in the PL"

"Get him off Dyche" after Hendrick won a late corner.

"We won't win another game all season"

Another favourite against City "league 1 stuff this Burnley"

The seat behind me remained empty till late in the second half when the occupier finally emerged from his bene session....and within 5 minutes commented how the fans need to get behind the team!! I kid you not.

The fan behind me is the most depressing negative person I have ever come across. He goes on to moan. I like my seat but can't take much more of him. 'FFS Hendrick, Dyche get Koudou on' (after 20 mins). It was worse when Gray and Jones were here though.

Statistically 96.4% of Burnley fans hate Dyche's hoofball, only 3% are brave enough to admit it on here which means 93.4% are cowards.

LOL at some of these, but the idiot who mentioned the ball boys may have a point. it seems more often than not the players retrieve the ball, which is frustrating when we need the ball back to the throw in taker quickly to counter attack.

Getting Nkoudo on for Hendrick is a positive comment to make I'm disappointed by your negativity.

Not behind me but to the side of me, dickhead fan shouted "break his legs" aimed at Wade Elliot first time he returned to The Turf as a Birmingham player.

Suffice to say said fan and me, we're not friends any more...

The kid behind me smashed my seat to bits with his foot during the Manchester United game. I was left with unapologetic blank looks from him and his dad when challenged. Fortunately it was replaced before the next game.

Wrong.

If only 3% of those that hate Dyche's football are brave enough that means there are 97% cowards.

More attractive football will develop as we slowly improve the squad with better players over years. Look at our goals conceded , we play games to pick up points by not dropping them and nicking goals.

I will take that for the next 10 years if it keeps us in the PL. I've seen us play a lot worse football in much lower divisions. With the injury list at present I am happy to finish with anything over 40 points.

Maybe your 93.4% are realists and your 6.6% are just those random ugly braindead people that the BBC manage to find whenever they interview a 'Burnley fan'.

My original seat in JHU block 2 was horrible. Surrounded by balloonheads either side screaming until they were blue in the face about everything and anything. Some of their comments were so moronic it almost appeared at times they were just shouting for the sake of it.

After getting fed up of this we moved a few rows back, better but there’s a real brain dead in front of me who was making racist jokes about the South Korean Spurs player (forget his name). It was schoolboy stuff, making “slanty eyes” etc, worryingly quite a lot of people were just guffawing along.

Might have to abandon that area of the ground next season.

I'm on the back row !

Did not like the crowd unrest when Hendrick was getting the ball in the second half - it is getting stupid. I thought he played well in the second half but some of our crowd are ready to get on his back every time he touches it.

We've seen this before with the likes of David Jones and Wade Elliot.

Behind me are a dad and his son, son I guess is around 10/11 years old. The lad is quite passionate and shouts out and sings and claps, has banter with his dad and comments about players, the game, the ref etc......yesterday was a ear opener for me when Saints scored - the young lad jumped up, screaming and swearing such obscenities F*******G W*****R etc etc! I turned around as it was such a shock to hear, to find him slumped down in his seat, holding back tears I presume of anger and frustration.......quite shocked me it did from such a youngster!

Have a variety of idiots around us in the CFS. One that keeps shouting YEEES every time we put a cross over, needless to say we never score.. Or this is shite Burnley awful crap.. Dyche you don't what you are doing etc etc. Couldn't help myself today I turned round and said where were you in when we was really **** the old days of the 4th division etc.. No reply for some reason they went quiet. And these were blokes in there 40's and 50's. To be fair some Burnley fans would never be satisfied. We could be playing like City or Barcelona and some would still moan.

I have unfortunately. On a coach away many years ago may have been a Boundary trip. I don't want to comment any further other than the guy has clearly gone undiagnosed with an underlying issue. The way he acted on that coach he showed the mental capacity of a 7 year old. In fact no that could be insulting to mature 7 year olds.

Sad really. Probably a nice guy when not showing off and living up to a jester persona.

You should do the right thing and report every incident to a steward, ask them to monitor the culprits and persist at it until action is taken, better still call them out when they do it if you are brave enough - appreciate this can be a bit intimidating for some but remember the morons will be outnumbered by decent folk that will back you up if you're assertive enough. No place for it at all. I implore you to do something about this behaviour - it blights our whole club.

We also had season tickets in block 2 around the Coyle period and had to move because of negative and boring crap peddle by some. We also move upwards before moving into the Cricketfield

Yeah just imagine first Thursday comedy night hosted by Rocky.

He must have behaved that day at Palace. He was like bad grandpa on steroids on my lucky trip . Stomping up the isles the entire journey home screaming in everybody's ears in the profound way only Rocky could. Almost as if somebody had forgotten to give him some tablets after the game to calm him.

Now I like funny and i'm not saying the Burnley leg end that is Rocky isn't funny to certain corners of our fans . I wouldn't want to go upsetting anybody. The thing is i'm yet to witness an occasion that the man hasnt just awkwardly made the normal fans laugh, more of an embarassed forced laugh than a watching your favourite comedian laugh. It's a kind of I'd better laugh to appease him rather than be insulted for not laughing at his lairy manner whilst trying to understand what the hell he is barking on about.

I split myself between two areas as I take my grandfather in his wheelchair when he’s well enough. With him I sit next to Joe Skinner (the young man who was so well treated by Danny Ings). He’s a top lad.

I go with my Dad in the McIlroy upper otherwise and it’s a good craic. Always funny comments floating around, no negativity really.

We used to sit behind someone who had a irrational hatred of Gareth Taylor, that used to drive me mad.
