Re: Joey Barton off tonight
Hi bobinho. This is a copy of the email I received:
Dear guest
I am sorry to say that tonight's event has been cancelled. The safety of our guests has to come first and not just at the venue and with the conditions worsening in Colne we just have to do the right thing. Joey would have made the event no doubt about it and even at this stage we could proceed but with some of the public transport being cancelled and also the M65 closed for an hour we really do have no choice.
We will be emailing back this afternoon with the revised new date of the event but I ask in the nicest possible manner that you do not email us until then. If you are already in the area and have travelled a distance like the gentleman from Seattle or the family from Wales please could you call us on 07414 960956.
I would hope the vast majority of you are in agreement with this decision but for those who are not again I apologise.
Please could you pass this email on to all of your fellow guests.
Thank you.

"Joey Barton off tonight". This sounded like a wine review to me.
Re: Joey Barton off tonight
Just been to the rearranged evening and an excellent night. Dyche and his coaching team in the audience with the manager coming on stage part way through the evening.
Evening slightly spoiled by some repetitively shouting ‘Dean Marney’ at various points for some strange reason.

I wonder what the guy from Seattle thought about cancelling the event for our 'severe' weather

One or two cringeworthy Burnleh fans there tonight with the repeated ‘Dean Marney’ chants. Still, was a good evening with Joey and Sean Dyche putting in a guest appearance

Not sure what you mean by that. Seattle is very wet but not at all very cold like many places in the US. 30's and 40's in the winter, 70's high in summer.Belial wrote:I wonder what the guy from Seattle thought about cancelling the event for our 'severe' weather

Love Marney, but that chant is annoying and not funny anymore.
Re: Joey Barton off tonight
Summed it up when either Barton or Dyche mentioned ‘Duffo’ and the ones who were constantly shouting stuff out broke into the the ‘Defour’ song!

Couldn't agree more..he has been excellent for us but let's face it we have outgrown him now as a player. I would suggest the support he gets on the touchline would be better off directed towards Hendrick for example, who seems to get nothing but crap from our "fans".gandhisflipflop wrote:That dean marney chant is so annoying its like a Burnley version of tourettes.

Snows less in Seattle than NW England, and far less than Scotland. Seattle, like us, more or less shuts down when they get snow.maidenover wrote:Not sure what you mean by that. Seattle is very wet but not at all very cold like many places in the US. 30's and 40's in the winter, 70's high in summer.

Re: Joey Barton off tonight
From recollection at last week's event, we got a Joey Barton chant when he came out and that was just about it.

The difference is that Dean Marney has earned the recognition, whilst Hendrick has, well, done nothing.Andreshotboots wrote:Couldn't agree more..he has been excellent for us but let's face it we have outgrown him now as a player. *Chanting 'Dean Marney' at an event with Joey Barton is very odd though.

He has obviuosly done enough to warrant his selection every week from arguably our best ever manager.IAmAClaret wrote:The difference is that Dean Marney has earned the recognition, whilst Hendrick has, well, done nothing.

Re: Joey Barton off tonight
We had the pleasure of 2 complete d***heads sat behind us. They started off just drunk and thick but by the end of the night they couldn’t even talk so they just belched, threw beer and behaved like utter kn*bs. And yes they were part of the Marney chant.
Re: Joey Barton off tonight
Really good night and Joey and Dyche both brilliant.
The idiots spoilt it at certain times - and as cringeworthy and annoying the Dean Marney chants were the worst comment was at the end during the audience questions - a racist one about Micah Richards. Barton just shook his head and said “its 2018”.
You just can’t believe how thick and ignorant some people our.

Re: Joey Barton off tonight
The heckling and chanting was pretty bad but I must admit I did laugh when Joeys microphone briefly stopped working and after fiddling with it he said, 'Can you hear me now?' With perfect timing someone shouted 'Hear you? I can see you, you d***' in true Phoenix Nights style.

Re: Joey Barton off tonight
post 25 and other posts...cringing indeed - to be honest, at an event like this, the idiots should be told once to behave and be quiet, and if they cannot get that, they should be escorted to the exit. We do have some proper clowns as supporters.

Lets have a go at Hendrick.IAmAClaret wrote:The difference is that Dean Marney has earned the recognition, whilst Hendrick has, well, done nothing.

Scored the winner at Everton.

Yeah, forgot about the phones going off and constant use. What a couple of pillocks. Trouble is you can’t reason with idiots like those two and if you did they would no doubt resort to abusive language or behaviour. They were in row S seats 18 and 19 I think.Overthehill wrote:I must have been sat nest to you, you forgot to mention they were constantly messing around with there phones!

If this was asking about the racist comment the question that was asked to Joey was "What`s the most frightening thing you have seen in football ?"SammyBoy wrote:Christ, that's horrendous. What was the question, or is it too inappropriate to repeat?

Lord Beamish - you should not have to explain it.
I was reluctant to spell it out because I can’t tell whether some posters were being thick / ignorant or are just racist and wanted you to post that.
