5 points between us and Arsenal

Post by FactualFrank » Sun Mar 04, 2018 12:12 am

Even Thierry Henry looked embarrassed when questioned on Sky about the slim margins. I don't think it was aimed at us, but more about the money they have spent to end up a whopping 5 points clear.

It's crazy how well we are doing. There's no "scraped a victory against..." - we are matching Premier League teams who have been there for years.

Immense. The best Burnley side I've seen in 38 years... Easy.

Arsenal fans must really be feeling it at the moment especially after meeting City twice in a week and being defeated like they were a lower league team.....! They have been declining steadily now for years and really need a fresh start under a fresh manager imo....

What we are doing at the moment is something I never thought I’d see.....we’re getting stronger and stronger each transfer window :D and I’m loving it!!!

Arsenal are down at Brighton this afternoon, let's see how that goes.
If they lose (maybe even if they draw but play poorly), that will give us a sniff.
The Gunners don't have a particularly difficult run of games now though so it'd be very long odds for us to catch them. It'll be a brilliant season if we can maintain our current position. Before the season started, top 10 would've been seen by most as a terrific effort.

I would say that pre season virtually all realistic Burnley supporters would have said that top 10 was unachievable

Leicester at home and Arsenal away now take on extra significance, the Leicester game could be a Europe decider

We're only 35 points behind City.

Come on lads we can do this!

However, they do have to face the Mighty Clarets at the Emirates Church in May. Let's hope that is an all-to-play-for-6th-position game!

Hope I'm wrong but can't see us closing a 5 point gap on Arsenal at this stage of the season

There was some folk on here who didn't think we'd close a two point gap on Boro two years ago.

What a bunch of fannies they were proven to be.

I think most would have taken survival and not been sure of that.
