Re: Bill roache
Bumped into him on a service station on an away day early 80’s. A Burnley fan started giving him grief about Diedre. To this day I’m convinced he thought it was Mike Baldwin not Bill Roache.
Re: Bill roache
Terrible for him.
I remember his much younger wife died suddenly some years ago.
Very sad and ironic that he is in such good shape for an 85 year old and this happens to both his wife and daughter.

Re: Bill roache
Does anybody know if he used to live at Sykeside house, in between Rawtenstall and Haslingdon. Somebody told me he lived there years ago and I've believed it ever since.

He did, just down the road from us.

Re: Bill roache
He did live in between Haslingden & Rawtenstall - if I remember correctly it was a big house on the left hand side, I think just after you turned the corner heading for Rawtenstall. Not sure of the name of the house - sorry. My late grandmother, bless her, once had a long conversation with him in Haslingden asking about how his mother and the family were, mistaking him for a family friend of ours. She realised her mistake when he popped up on Corrie a few days later and she recognised him!Sutton-Claret wrote:Does anybody know if he used to live at Sykeside house, in between Rawtenstall and Haslingdon. Re: Bill roache
Feel sorry for the chap but I don't see how a 50 year old daughter of a soap actor, dying from natural causes, makes the newspapers.
Re: Bill roache
I nearly flattened him and his two Labradors when getting a barrow of a tarmac wagon in Cheadle. That would have made the papers.
