It was the first time that I'd made the trip with my two sons and I'm not ashamed to admit that I cried when the final whistle blew. The injury time played seemed like another 90 minutes until the ref blew for the final time that afternoon..

Fantastic day and well worth the ridiculously early start and "cattle" treatment! Andy Payton was very squiffy in The Boot later and just kept leading the singing!!! Brilliant!!

Of course we are and it will be 8 years next month since they last beat us.

You know watching that, i don't think Shackell actually enjoyed football. It was a job to him wasn't it? Explains picking up the biggest pay packet regardless of playing or not eh?

Someone had put together a clip of the winning goal from various angles, but I couldn't find it on youtube.

Had the (kind of) pleasure of attending & sitting in the directors box - thought I'd attach a few images ........ great day (but would have prefered to have been amongst the Darwen End)!
To say the locals were not best pleased would be an understatement - punches thrown at us as we departed the stand & refusal to serve us champagne once to got the lounge on account of our 'Over Biosterous' celebrations!
I went to school in Blackburn through the ealy/mid-80s - was a tough gig ..... I waited a LONG time for this.... Hahahahahahahahahaha!

That's a brilliant shot of Barry Kilby and Sonya.

Great day.

Barry had missed the game at Ewood in the previous season through illness, when Dunn equalised with the goal that was about 50 yards offside. Dyche mentioned him post match after the win. I saw BK in the following week. You couldn't wipe the smile off his face.

And 8 years since they last beat us :) They really have had that old comfort blanket of theirs really shoved where the sun don't shine. Doesn't matter where in the world we Clarets are, that - and the subsequent wins - have been fantastic feelings.

The photo of the board celebrating like that is the reason we should never ever prostitute our beloved club to some pie in the sky illusionary belief that an Arab ,Russian, American,or Indian would put our club first.
