Re: Jamie Carragher
Whilst Carragher is well out of order, I don’t understand why fans think it’s appropriate to behave like that.
If I was driving alongside somebody like David Dunn and behaved like that. I’d be embarrassed.

I said earlier that it was a disgusting thing that Carra did, no excuse for it. I was just pointing out that the United fan seemed like a bit of a prick too though from that vid.Spiral wrote:Am I reading this right? Is bfccrazy actually apologising for Carragher, here? I've just watched a video of Carragher literally spitting on a child.
I apologise if I've completely misread your last post, bfccrazy.

Re: Jamie Carragher
the dad sounded a right ****, he was ecstatic when hr realised what had happened, and wasn't so much concerned about the incident, as how nice a little earner his crappy vid would make him
Re: Jamie Carragher
You can't go round don't my that in his position. I won't miss him I can't understand word he says. The idiot goading him and filming will hrooefully be punished. I hate people that text or film and drive ( often young girls but sometimes older people that should know better).
Re: Jamie Carragher
Where have you got that it's Carragher's daughter? Isn't it the driver's own daughter?FactualFrank wrote:I still think it's strange that the driver called him Jamie Carragher - with JC's supposedly daughter next to him. That just comes across as strange - unless they dislike eachother. Otherwise, you'd be calling him by his first name because you're a friend of the family.
This quote from Carragher made me laugh:
"I lost my head. I shouldn’t have done it but I was thinking what is a grown man doing, carrying on like that two or three times with his daughter in the car?”
So you spat at his daughter like grown men do.

Re: Jamie Carragher
yes the bloke did say good result at the beginning but lets get this right, the bloke winding up carragher was a scouse man utd fan.IndigoLake wrote:In all honesty, the dad of that girl came across as a total bellend. I'm not saying that justifies Carragher spitting - it doesn't at all. Totally wrong to do so, even more so at a young girl who was not to blame at all for the idiocy of her dad. The Dad claims he said "good result" to Carragher when he clearly didn't - not on camera anyway. It wasn't like he was trying to have a chat with Carragher about the game. By filming Carragher and repeating the scoreline over and over again he was clearly trying to get Carragher's attention and wind him up. He didn't mind doing so with his daughter in the car with him either.
The girl seems embarrassed by her dad and he honestly seems a lot more concerned about the incident now...he didn't even seem that bothered when his daughter told him in the moment. You can just hear that one sole cog in his head whirring as he realises he can get his 5 minutes of fame. Plus he was filming while driving - very responsible. Honestly, he's as much to blame as Carragher and I hope he's apologised to his daughter but I doubt it.
just how bad a mix is that? one or the other would have been bad enough. Carrageher lost the plot and I am sure his actions were out of character. The bloke filming whilst driving is clearly a complete bellend and you can just imagine him bragging to his mates about doing this. Iactually think he has messed up big time here as all those scousers will know who he is. this will come home to haunt him if carragher loses his job for this.

No the the bloke filming is in the drivers seat. You even see the steering wheel when he’s driving behind Carragher, and the daughter is in the passenger seatChuckypad wrote:The bloke filming is in the passenger seat and his daughter is in the back, behind the passenger seat
It would have been a hell of a shot for him to gob through an open front window and hit a passenger in the back

Re: Jamie Carragher
Whilst it is largely irrelevant to what happened; do we actually know for a fact that the guy is a scouse Man Utd fan. He could of course be an Evertonian.
Also do we know for a fact that it was the driver doing the filming.
I have no axe to grind with Carragher apart from the fact that he can't appear to speak clear English which is a bit of a problem given his role.
No excuse for spitting whatsoever and I do find some of the comments above absolutely breathtaking in there stupidity. I'll leave you all to work out which ones, it's not difficult.

Re: Jamie Carragher
the article in the paper said he was a man utd fan. I checked as my initial thought was everton fan. I know the road where it was filmed and its in Liverpool. Irrespective of any of that though, thankfully it seems his young daughter has far more sense than her bellend dad.

Yeah, but as with as these things the replies on what is appropriate does tend to depend on whether you like Carragher or not.
No way he should have done it, but filming on a mobile with your kid in the car?
Social Services job that for me to be honest.

As for Carragher, imagine having a cushy job like that and risking it all by doing something as disgusting as that. What a knob.
Re: Jamie Carragher
Factual Frank - have you worked out yet that JC’s daughter is in neither of the cars yet ?!!!!
The Man Utd fan is embarrassing - and it sounds like his daughter has seen her dad do this kind of thing before. Hopefully he gets prosecuted and points / fine.
JC has been stupid here - apparently he’s been caught in a couple of other previous road rage incidents.
I hope that he is not sacked by Sky but unfortunately for him it’s looking like a slow news week so this could just escalate more - especially if the police get involved (which the media would love)
Joey Barton has been slating him on Talk Radio this morning and saying if it was him who had done it he would be crucified by everyone. That may well be the case but there is a reason for that Joey !!
Plus Joey should know more than anyone that people make mistakes - and I know Joey has been punished for his but don’t think with Joey’s history he is doing himself any favours being so critical of Carragher.

Re: Jamie Carragher
You can hear the pound signs in the guys voice after it happens. It's a shame he didn't care as much about his daughters feelings when she was trying to get him to stop being a bell end. Carragher spitting is well rank.
Re: Jamie Carragher
Disgusting, vile act from Carragher.
Don't care whether he was provoked or not. Proven himself to be rich yob in a suit.
The guy filming it whilst driving is a separate issue and should be dealt with appropriately.
Has to be sacked. Thought he was a decent pundit but Sky will carry on quite nicely without him.

Re: Jamie Carragher
Weve got the great moral arbiter Vinnie Jones on this now (courtesy of Daily Mirror, referencing Talksport).
He reckons the driver should've charged after JC, rammed him, dragged him out of the car and beaten him up. Yes Vinnie, that would be a great example for an already embarrassed daughter.

Kicking the living sh-it out of someone
Stubbing a cigarette in someone’s eye
Glassing someone
Breaking someone’s leg with a 2 footed tackle
Biting someone
Being racist
Being sexist
Being homophobic
Stealing
Etc etc
Just wondering when you say “lowest tricks” how bad you think it is ?
For what it’s worth personally I think he has been very stupid and should not have reacted. I do not think he should be sacked however, whereas if he would have got out of his car and give the big mouth manc a good pasting I think he would have deserved the sack - in fact most of the above list deserves the sack IMHO.

He'll be binned from Sky. He reacted in a thoroughly disgusting way to someone winding him up by saying '2-1' to him. I thought this was going to be something far, far worse, like saying something really offensive about his wife or children. He reacted badly to a bit of lighthearted banter. Sky won't risk a 'next time'.

Sky set a precedent when they got rid of Keys and Gray, I don't see a way they will keep JC on. I can't say that spitting is a sacking offence though - we've seen many a professional sports person do it on the pitch in front of millions in various sports and they get a ban and a fine.
I'm not condoning what he has done in any way whatsoever but the overreaction is quote typical of the British public and media
