Re: Jay Rodriguez
Dyche and his team have improved pretty much every player, if Dyche wants Jay back then that's good enough for me

Re: Jay Rodriguez
It's a definite yes from me, 100%.
He would be better suited to the number 10 role than Hendrick (Although I am probably better suited to this role than Hendrick!), and offers something different amongst our forward players, as he has skill, pace, is good in the air and can finish.
Get him signed on.

Re: Jay Rodriguez
Must admit I really don't understand the negativity towards Walters. He's been an excellent Premier League player for a number of years but his first season with us has been unfortunately blighted by injury. He may yet still prove to be a good signing or may be moved on in summer, but fact is that he hasn't had enough games to be judged.JohnMac wrote:Westwood and Lowton are examples of good players being not overly popular because some fans have an unrealistic view of their clubs position. A bit like some of our own with regard to Wells and Walters.
Jay Rod would be a good addition to our squad, Lionel Messi would be a good addition to our first XI.
Jay would be a good signing though and I suspect, being a Burnley boy, would get that extra 10% out of him.

Re: Jay Rodriguez
he's been with us before and he thought he had left for bigger and brighter things which has turned out sour. don't go back. also if he has this racist thing hanging over him we don't wont to be involved in that, hope he is cleared btw. think we can do much better. he has no pace and is injury prone

Re: Jay Rodriguez
If he came in to replace someone like Walters then yes, he'd be an improvement.
But didn't he go to West Brom for about £14m? It depends also on how much of this they want back.

Re: Jay Rodriguez
Jay's ability on the ball, his reading of the game, versatility and goal-scoring qualities means he would be a welcome addition to our squad.
No doubt he'd be open to the prospect of returning "home" - as long as the conditions were right.
His move to West Brom looks increasingly like a bad decision.

Re: Jay Rodriguez
I’d welcome him back. He’s a top player in a bad team imo. He was in the England team before his injury and what’s to say he can’t get back there with us.
Re: Jay Rodriguez
According to Wiki he's got 30 goals in 133 appearances at PL level.

Re: Jay Rodriguez
So roughly 1 in 4 but that include many, many substitute appearances.
Suspect it would be closer to 1 in 3 in terms of per 90 minutes played.
Also his best season was closer to 1 in 2. The enticing prospect with Jay would be if he could replicate that sort of form.
It's all hypothetical, especially considering he is a WBA player right now.

Keep going, you'll have him with a better strike rate than Messi.Rowls wrote:So roughly 1 in 4 but that include many, many substitute appearances.

I don’t like players coming back in general Martin Dobson excepted, don’t think he’s a Dyche type player also might be wrong, so not for me.

Re: Jay Rodriguez
Since we're talking strikers, I think Niasse at Everton would be a good signing. Doesn't play a lot for them but has a very similar goal tally to Chris Wood from a similar number of minutes played this season.

Re: Jay Rodriguez
Definitely offers something we Don have in my opinion.
Just as much as people are saying that Burnley fans only clamour for him because he's a claret, there's plenty who only dont want him because of that reason too.
A very intelligent forward, not necessarily a striker. On the right contract with the right fee he would be a good buy. Let's see what happens when the baggies go boing boing into the championship

Re: Jay Rodriguez
Scored today v Bournemouth - good strikers goal.
He’s a fine player and I would trust Dyche to get the very best out of him. The fact he is at his best in that role off the striker suits us too.
Yes from me.

The way Jay's Career has unfolded he may find his way back to East Lancs, but I don't think for a minute he will ever play for us again, he will look good in blue and whiteDiesel wrote:I don't post much on here these days but when I do it's worth listening to.

Think we actually need to be looking at a smaller, quicker goal poacher to compliment Wood, Barnes or even Vokes. And thee creativity from wide.
