Re: todays footy
Most of the teams down there seem to have a mini good run, then fall away.
Could welll come down to the last match of the season for quite a few of em.
Or even goal difference.

"Tom Heaton
Burnley and England goalkeeper on 5 live sports extra"
Yes, that's where we're at folks. Two Burnley and England goalkeepers.

Interesting that Tom said he is available for selection after the break, so might see him on the bench then.

Re: todays footy
Very surprised that today’s attendance of over 30000 is a record for the ground at Stoke.

They have filled in the corner where the big screen used to be, so basically it's their biggest crowd of the season and that with the extra capacity will be the record attendance since moving to the windy stadium.South West Claret. wrote:Very surprised that today’s attendance of over 30000 is a record for the ground at Stoke.

Stoke level.
Re: todays footy
Tom being diplomatic.
"Strikers queuing up to score
Stoke 0-1 Everton
Tom Heaton
Burnley and England goalkeeper on 5 live sports extra
In the end a few Everton players were queuing up to put it in.
Butland does well to save the first time around but Cenk Tosun is there to smash it in.

'Costly Butland error'
Stoke 0-1 Everton
Alex Bruce
Wigan defender on Final Score
We all know it's difficult conditions but Jack Butland has to do better there.
Gareth Southgate will be comparing the two goalkeepers there today and it's a black mark next to the Stoke 'keeper there I'm afraid.

Tosun gets his 2nd and perhaps 5th goal in 4 or 5 games.

Re: todays footy
West Brom are down. The other two could be anyone but both Southampton and Stoke have very tough games in the last 7/8. Huddersfield need points in their next three or face having to take points from a nightmare last 3 games.
It's a pretty close relegation battle but I think Bournemouth just got safe today. It's West Brom plus any 2 from:
Southampton
Stoke
Huddersfield
Palace
Swansea
West Ham
Swansea and west ham have games in hand, as do Brighton and Newcastle but they're all against top 4 (except Swansea who's is against Southampton - so that could either put the Saints firmly into the favourites for the drop or drag Swansea back in - will the new manager bounce do enough and the Carvalho bubble burst? It's very, very interesting.
I'd say it's likely two from Stoke, Southampton, Huddersfield or West Ham

Re: todays footy
The late goals for Everton and Bournemouth did us no favours.
We should still finish above them both but, but we now have less "wiggle" room.
If they'd both dropped points today, then a top 10 finish would have been all but assured, and most likely only Leicester would have been able to pip us for 7th.
So - basically - still quite a bit of work to do, but that's probably how Sean likes it.
