Re: West Brom
Pardew impressively proving his footballing credentials once more.
He must have turned cartwheels all the way home when he got that eight year contract
at Newcastle. Shoulda stuck with Pulis.

Still hadn't settled into our 4-5-1/4-4-1-1 formation at home.Diesel wrote:How the **** did they beat us at the Turf?

It was a fluke TBH we battered them and they got a flukey break.

Probably a bit of both.bfcjg wrote:It was a fluke TBH we battered them and they got a flukey break.
I was in the Cricketfield that day and can still hear that 'we've got Kanu' song ringing in my ears.

It's the old be careful what you wish for. On pardew I've no problems...but why he took on west brom I've no idea, crazy!! While not keen on mark Hughes I'd like him to keep Southampton up at west hams expenseElectroClaret wrote:Bet they've changed their minds now.

I was chatting to a couple of Baghies walking back to the train station and they couldn't understand how they won.

Re: West Brom
No we weren't . Without checking I think we had about 20 shots, Mee missed a virtually open goal from 2 yards, Walters missed a golden opportunity to be an instant hero at the end, and we gifted them a goal with shocking defending from a long ball.Stayingup wrote:Because that day we were sh!te.
Also ....... WBA were top of the League!! (6 points out of 6 and no goals conceded!!) - they must have been looking forward to a good season under Pulis.
They've only picked up 14 since.

Re: West Brom
Better team today for large parts apparently.
Won’t be an easy game at the Hawthorns.
Never is for us anyway. No matter how bad they are.

We were bad for the goal . You said it yourself. Mix up between Ward and Mee and then Trakowski should have drifted Kanu - as he would have done now. We didn't score after having most of the play. Therefore you could say we were sh!te. Actually coming after the win at Chelsea it was a big let down

Whatever your view of our performance against WBA, we were far worse in our next 3 home games, but picked up points in the 2 league games.Stayingup wrote:

I remember thinking we were good for a draw in the WBA game, nothing more though.Stayingup wrote:

Yep, and we were -arguably - worse against Hudds, (one of the most tedious games I've ever seen), and Leeds Utd, who also outplayed us for the most part.UpTheClaretsFCBK wrote:I remember thinking we were good for a draw in the WBA game, nothing more though.

Re: West Brom
Jay Rod looking good again and has scored nine goals this season in a rubbish team. Will he be looking for a move to a Premier League club when they go down

Re: West Brom
He will be looking to move to a club willing to pay his wages which were apparently £60-70k at Southampton, so can't imagine them being much less at WBA.

Re: West Brom
Don’t get this obsession with Rodriguez.
He’s on at least 60k a week and he’s badly injury prone.

Re: West Brom
Foster is a shocking goalkeeper. One excellent game to every five really poor ones.
Taking aside his clarets history, I’d take J Rod at Burnley next season. Looks to be over his injury set back. A very very good footballer.

Doesn`t that mean he is unlikely to get injured ie he is bad at getting injured?UpTheClaretsFCBK wrote:Don’t get this obsession with Rodriguez.
