They used to paint "STOP!!" just over the touchline for when Steve Kindon charged down the wing.

As a former groundsman I can tell you these top football pitches are all wrongly marked - the lines are straight.
My football pitches (and markings for other sports) were correctly always crooked - most football pitches are.
