Re: Accident at Turf
I was at an event at the Turf tonight. Just got home. Harry Potts way closed still. If what people were saying is true then my condolences to the family of the unfortunate man who lost his life tonight.

The 57 year old local man died while walking his dog. Very sad! His dog also died.

No !
Re: Accident at Turf
Read about it last night, sounded a terrible incident, very sad news.
I hope it isn't the same John Russell who worked at McBrides?
Will be around that age and lived opposite fouledge fields where the fun fair went.
Edit - just heard it is the same John. Oh dear, what a shame, an absolute terrific bloke.
In total shock.
RIP John, a truely nice man

John was a very nice man and I’m absolutely gutted for his wife and three lads, whom I grew up with.
RIP, John.

Absolutely gutted. Worked with John, an absolute gent, who often helped me out with my technical difficulties ( which was often as I'm useless with electronics )BurnleyFC wrote:It is unfortunately, Macca.

Re: Accident at Turf
I've only just seen this, until his death John and I worked together at the same IT company over in the Ribble Valley. A really pleasant bloke who made me feel welcome when I started (us being the only two from Burnley who worked there), and always had a chat with me whenever we crossed paths. Gone too soon, life really is fragile. RIP John.
