O/T - China (Travel)

Post by boffbfc » Sat Apr 07, 2018 10:33 am

Hi all,

Off to China for 2 weeks in August and was just wondering if anyone has been and what they would advise to see do? We fly into Beijing and out of Shanghai. Looking for culture, history, natural beauty spots and obviously to taste the cuisine!

Cheers in advance

The first thing to do is decide how you are going to get around the country. Are you going to fly or go by train.
If you decide to go by train (my preference) you have to book your travel in advance. You can't just rock up at the station and expect to get on the train.
I used to get the night trains and sleep on them . The cabins are pretty good, clean and safe. The benefit of doing it this way is that you save on accomodation and you don't have the hassle of going to and from airports.
The plane network is excellent.

Thanks Wirvine. Was thinking a mixture of trains and planes. Will certainly be doing some night trains to save on accommodation. Cheers
