No ill feeling towards him, was superb for us in the Promotion season and doubled our money (more than) on him.

Shame it hasn't worked out as he thought.

It is a shame.

Better player than he gets credit for on here and integral to our recent success.

Agreed good player but would you pay what Watford did for him to bring him back? I wouldn't

I’m not sure I’d pay what we DID pay for him to bring him back tbh

I would take him back for £10m-12m - Gray or Wells as the pacy option? No contest, he would improve our squad for sure.

If you're chasing a game and your record transfer striker doesn't come on, you know times up for him. He'll be at wolves next season, his "boy good club" with his homees.

We've moved on now and Watford probably overpaid for him.

Gray or Wells is a pointless argument. We know about gray, and we don’t know about wells. And from what I know of gray, I’d like to see wells have a crack at it BEFORE making a decision. With the way the other lads are shaping, he won’t get a look in and rightly so.

Oh. And gray is most certainly NOT a good player. He has his uses, and when you play to his strengths he can and will do a job for you. Trouble is his strengths means the team is one dimensional. Useful in the right team and set up, yes. Good player? No.

I agree he was good for us in the championship, but that's about it. Apart from his pace he offers very little. Colin may get more out of him next season.

Andre isn't a good player, far from it.

The way Dyche set the team up and the style of play we used to have made I'm look good & gave him the opportunity to score some goals.

We have moved on, he hasn't.

I don't think anyone disputes the fact we aren't missing him, and that the likes of Wood and Barnes are providing infinitely more at this level for us than Gray did last season - but he was a huge part of our promotion. We should always be thankful for his contribution to getting us here, we looked absolutely toothless till he and Joey joined towards the end of August that season.

Some short memories on this board

What did Gray offer us other than pace ? Mmmm let me think - oh yes just remembered....20+ goals and an integral part of the team that won the league.

We set up the team to make him look good ? Aaah isn’t that thoughtful of us.

Gray did great for us. He then wanted to leave for more money - just like Ings, Austin, Rodriguez, and many other centre forwards we have had in the last few years.

Since leaving Gray has struggled for sure - and he probably will end up leaving but let’s not forget Watford are a basket case of a club.

Personally i’m very happy with his time at Burnley and equally happy we made £10m profit on him.

Duchess masterclass. Gets the most out of a decent player and makes huge profit on him too. This has been a model for our success and in many ways Andre Gray’s career is a victim of Dyche’s brilliance now. Serves him right fo being greedy. Was never up to this level with us so I’ve no idea how anyone thought he’d be up to this level without us.

Absolutely. A good Championship striker and a mediocre Prem striker but the gangsta image and the pop star g/f has screwed him. Having said that, he got the goals that helped to get us promoted so, good on him. However, the big money move had turned to dust because he hasn't got SD looking after him.

Enjoyed his goals for us but never really took to him - always had a feeling that he'd be off as soon as he could. Hasn't worked out for him at Watford but at least he has more money in the bank.

He did very well for us, however his attitude whilst here, then during his move doesn't exactly get him hero status.

Thank you for what you did whilst here, but good bye, you reap what you sow.

Keane doesn't function properly without Mee and Barton can't function properly without SD. Like any good team,. you improve when crucial members move on. It's all about man - management and SD can do that. Andre Grey was a good player in the Championship (with the service he got) but outlived his usefulness to us in the Prem. There hasn't been many strikers who couldn't trap a sack of concrete who got the Championship striker of the year.

Why do you need to trap a sack of concrete when you score the number of goals Gray did?

My sentiments exactly. You might do this to the away fans if they are giving you grief but not your own fans. Makes him look a proper petulant two hat.

A good first touch is a bonus to a good striker. With that ability I'm pretty sure he would still be with us.

He was excellent for us, we did well whilst he was here and we're doing well now he's gone. I don't understand the negativity around him, he scored 26 goals in the Championship during a promotion season and carried the team on his back for large spells during that season. Who cares if he doesn't have a good first touch now? he was a damn good player for us.

Did very well for us but looked better in the Champ than the PL. Hungry and humble when he joined but not once he had the pop star girlfriend. Think the ego has overtaken the talent.

Messi would look better in the Championship than he would in the PL? probably the most obvious statement in history. Who actually cares how good he is? I don't care if he's a League One level player, he still did very well for us which will never change.

Played a huge part in getting us promoted. A very shrewd purchase and possibly the biggest reason for us winning the Championship outright, The points we got from his goals were immense. He sadly got greedy -the grass was greener....... etc

Must have felt sick today

Who gives a ****?

He isn't our employee anymore and frankly, he was paid to do what he did.

If he is no longer happy with his new job, that's his problem.

Nostalgia and teary eyes about "what he did for us" are quite pathetic

I always got the impression he used us as a stepping stone and was never really happy here. Most stepping stones though get you up or at least on the same level, alas in Andre's case has fallen into the river. Still his girlfriend can cheer him up with a few songs.

Don't have a problem with him. Did well for us while here. Don't think he ever really settled up North and wanted back down to London. Like others who have moved on has never hit the heights he did here. This does make me wonder how much of it is down to SD and just how good SD really is as a motivational manager.

Good player or not, I’ve never seen Vokes or Wells storm off down the tunnel. I get that he wants to play but it’s really unprofessional.
