Selling out

Post by Zom Zom » Sat Apr 07, 2018 6:20 pm

I have always been proud to be a Gary Numan fan. It's been rough down the years. Constant vilification from the press, mocked by the likes of Jagger, snubbed by Radio 1.

40 years on since his first contract with Beggars Banquet, he's just had his highest chart placing since 1982, completed a world tour and has just sold out the Royal Albert Hall for an orchestrated version of his most recent album.

This, along with the fortunes of Lancashire's finest football team, has made my weekend.

Six dates for November. I can't do the RAH, but I will be at sold out Bridgwater Hall.

High on life at the moment. Sh1t yeah.

I used to like Gary Newman, but then I grew up. Some of his original stuff was good but he got a bit samey. Kudos for sticking with him. I've stuck with Dire straits since 1978 so I sort of share your pain!

I'd already grown up when Tubeway Army were topping the charts. Prog Rock & Northern Soul! :D
But they were fresh, great talent and had a great sound.
Saw Steve Hackett at the Bridgewater hall earlier this year. Book a meal, you get top quality restaurant food for greasy spoon prices!

Replying to your inane drivel, with bad spelling, indicates I am. You have nothing to post that interests me so you are back on my ignore list. Prick.

Big fan of Gary Neumann (taking the mick with the old autocorrect) back in the day, 1978 to early eighties, saw a fair few gigs but have to admit to losing interest in his career in the mid eighties onwards but always had a soft spot for his music, very influential on me and my career.
