Cycling To The Game
Does anyone know if there’s provision at the Turf for locking up push-bikes?

You'd need to take your saddle and wheels into the ground with you..

There will be bike storage at Manchester Road station and probably at St Peters.
Other than that, not sure what your options would be other than contacting the club in advance and requesting a special arrangement.

With the club encouraging male weight loss and activities in the community i often qonder why dont they start a campaign which would be a first and give them publicity and encourage fans to cycle to the ground and allow them all to be left inside the centre round the back for safety. Itd encourage fans to be active and ease traffic if it took off. Quite like the idea of cycling to the match a pint in the fan zone then cycling home after another 3 points

That’s not a bad suggestion at all, Bumba.bumba wrote:With the club encouraging male weight loss and activities in the community i often qonder why dont they start a campaign which would be a first and give them publicity and encourage fans to cycle to the ground and allow them all to be left inside the centre round the back for safety. I’m cycling from and back to Todmorden today. That’ll make the couple(or so)of pints and a pie I intend to have in the afternoon disappear in sweat on the way home.

Is there still changing facilities in the old leisure centre building? Would make it even better if you could change out of and store your Lycra.bumba wrote:With the club encouraging male weight loss and activities in the community i often qonder why dont they start a campaign which would be a first and give them publicity and encourage fans to cycle to the ground and allow them all to be left inside the centre round the back for safety. Re: Cycling To The Game
A covered secure area for bicycles shouldn't be too much to ask for. Nice idea from Bumba. Although after several "points" is it really a good idea to be cycling home? (Only joking)

Get one of those fold up bikes and bring it in with you. Just don't let your Dad use it at half time when he goes off to the concourse

Re: Cycling To The Game
I think there are facilities for locking your bike up at Turf Moor - take a look at this link:

at the back of the car park?

Re: Cycling To The Game
I'm sure somebody will put you "right" at the suggestion of sweating out pies ( ) but all the best with the ride. Sounds like a jolly idea. Hope you're cycling back with 3 points in the bag.Lord Beamish wrote:I’m cycling from and back to Todmorden today.
