Will increase the ground capacity by approx 8k but they're adding in some other bits for hospitality and entertainment.
They've also got to help with the improvement of travel arrangements etc.
Premier League officials have backed the project saying that Selhurst is becoming “outdated” and the “famous atmosphere” created by passionate Palace fans deserves an up-to-date home.

The rebuild of the Main Stand could cost Crystal Palace up to £100 million and the project will totally reshape the surrounding area, as well as boosting the capacity of Selhurst Park from 26,000 to 34,000.

Puts some of the low figures thrown about on here for Turf Moor redevelopment into perspective.

Ridiculous amount of money for a stand. Totally mind blowing.

All our fans are hoping for is new cladding on the Bob Lord, or even for two new stands (an L shaped wrap maybe), perhaps £20-30m.

Cost half that though if doing it up here, Isn't the whole area around it, and transport links also being done?

I think we have possibly rushed into the last couple of years of the upgrades around t'turf, and they will only put the board off spending money that actually improves the facilities, CFS and Bob Lord.

A perfectly good clarets store and ticket office has just become available right across the road, although I'm not saying we could have known that, but certainly if it all moved over there, the Bob Lord could be rebuilt with something fit for purpose and up to date.

So factoring in the inflation and you're looking at an horrendous amount of money now, higher than the figures C/Forever has suggested it would cost.

Possibly some of the houses opposite TM, maybe help with improving Transport links, car parks etc.

Costs would no doubt spiral.

Taking inflation from September 1995 (last game of the Longside) to now, £5m would be £9.24m now

Absolutely, but I'm buying that if I win the Euros. Absolute gold mine, and will be the best investment I could make.

Remind me what we’d be doing with houses opposite the BL stand again?

Depends on what you'd be doing with the stand.

If you wanted to add tiers to it as it is now, then they'd encroach on the view / lighting for houses across the road.

If you look at Chelsea, they had objections from someone at Stamford bridge for similar reasons that was holding up approval for the new ground.

It's all well and good saying we can just do whatever, but we would have to take into consideration the needs of local residents, but it would only be a small number affected.

Our corner plans for disabled folk as a by-law-requirement should also include plenty of safe standing for the carers and attendant extended family.

Interesting figures. I know each club has its own design problems, but we could do with two new stands really.

I've posted on this before as it's what I do for a living. The mere fact that another tier on the Bob Lord would take natural light away from houses across the road doesn't necessarily mean a planning application would be refused. It would simply be one of a multitude of material considerations for the Council to consider.

The Stamford Bridge issue related to Right to Light, which is a civil matter rather than a planning matter. Hammersmith and Fulham Council has already granted planning permission for the new stadium.

Also, there's no right to a view in planning law.

Surely the houses across the road from an extended Bob Lord Stand would get reflected light and perhaps melted Jaguars and wheelie bins rather than sun blotting out the light.

Huddersfield £73m & Bolton £43m are interesting. Pretty much the same stadium and both designed by Paul Fletcher. Wonder why such a difference in cost?

As I remember it, we were told 6 million for the stands but the Football League had a fund to help clubs go all seater, and they paid a considerable part of it.

Depends on what the quoted cost includes I guess. Is it purely the cost of the build of the stadium or does it include purchase of the land, building of other infrastructure etc?

Despite being relegated, our one season in the 2nd tier of English football following the Play off win against Stockport in 1994, qualified us for a " Football League Foundation " grant of half the cost of replacing the Longside/Beehole End with all-seater Stands. Budgeted at £ 5.28m, the Club had to find £2.64m of it's own resources to fund the work.

Whilst the stands can best be described as " functional ", they both have Corporate facilities and are in use everyday of the week. Even accounting for inflation, we effectively had two sides of our Ground demolished & rebuilt at a cost of c.£4.5m ( At todays prices )....

Bargain of the Century, imho.... ;) ;)

Already covered really. The Longside and Bee Hole cost us £5.3m, but we ended up paying a flat £5m (we got a grant for about £2.3m) due to a dispute with Linpave.

We had no money back then, so £2.6 or £2.7m was a hell of a lot of money for us.

They looked impressive at the time, but you can tell 20 years later that the materials weren’t the highest quality. We got a cracking deal though.

Massive car park and bar for home games, until the club realise they need it and pay me 12m for it
