Sunderland

Post by MLD » Mon Apr 23, 2018 8:25 pm

I’ve just been looking at the championship table and can’t see how Sunderland have been relegated.
They’re 6 points off safety with 2 games to play.
Can anyone shed some light on it please?

The two teams they could overtake play each other. One of them or both will get the additional point or points to take them out of reach. Or something like that !

The only 2 teams they can catch have to play each other meaning at least a point for one of them

Bolton and Burton have to play each other, and after that the lowest number of points 4th from botom can be on is 41, which Sunderland can't reach.

No one likes,Sunderland, so they are the designated relegation team. Can't escape that!

........
Ps not only that, they are bolt on to go for a Burton!

There paddling swiftly down $hit creek in a barbed wire canoe, it`ll be a good while before we see them in the top league again!

Rodwell, apparently, has no relegation clause in his contract.
He'll be pulling in - wait for it - £73, 000 per week in League One or, in real terms, Division Three.
Sunderland deserve everything that's come to them. Absolutely insane.

Rumours a takeover is getting close, a group headed by Adam Pearson appear to be the front runners.

Nixon saying on twitter that the group aren't happy details/names are being leaked to the media but it is still ongoing.

What right have they got to be above clubs like Accrington?
Absolutely agree with this. Gets right up my nose when people say things like 'they are too big for that league' or 'they are a PL club playing in League 1' or any number of other silly statements. Next season Sunderland will be a League 1 club, not a PL club in League 1, and they will remain a league 1 club until such time as they are promoted or relegated. You are never too good or too big for any division, you deserve to be wherever you are just as we deserved no better than division 4 when we were there. Next season, at least for one season, Sunderland FC will be on a level par with Accrington Stanley and it is what they currently deserve, no better or worse.
