Lancashire League - 22nd April

Post by Hopey » Sun Apr 22, 2018 4:36 pm

Lowerhouse made 252-3 off their 44 overs (delay start) - Ben Heap 144.

Live scoring not working at Milnrow as they haven’t invented the internet yet

Ben Heap passed 5000 Lancashire League runs when he reached 134. Congratulations to him.

That's a good effort on what can't be the easiest wicket to bat on given it is April - or - are Milnrow not much good?

Rawtenstall lost by 9 wickets to Clitheroe. Sounds like a very professional performance from the champions.

Cashing in on a weak Rawtenstall showing. Pound for pound, they performed better, and seemed to be right on the money from the start.

East Lancs v Haslingden was a victim of the weather with no play possible.

But Clitheroe can transfer their game to Read. Stinks.

Rawtenstall will of had the advantage of their new professional Keegan Petersen already having played a season at Read and knowing the wickets.

In what sense?
Approval to play away from Chatburn Rd was the only sensible option for the League to make.
I can't imagine that any club would have objected to this - indeed it means that they have less "home" matches.
It was by far the most sensible option given that they couldn't reverse fixtures as in the past.
