He was equally popular at Sunderland and Preston too - but he's been a massive favourite at HillsboroughUpTheBeehole wrote:Wednesday fans love him.

I think Sunderalnd will be a good move for him. He will be an experienced player in a level where he could excel and not just take the pay packet which other Sunderland players have gone in recent seasons.

They aren't quite as complimentary of Jones and Boyd. I worked in Sheffield for three years and am still in touch with a number of Owls fans.UpTheBeehole wrote:Wednesday fans love him.

Is it just me or does anybody think that Ross should head back up to Scotland and be part of a “Rangers revivial” along with Scott Arfield and Steven Gerrard?

For heaven's sake, Ross played for Celtic, most unlikely that he'll turn to Rangers now?

his free-kicks...especially at home to Blackpool and (last minute) at Leicester will always be remembered fondly!

Re: ARTICLE: Released Wallace prompts club announcement
Boyd has hardly played to be fair, had surgery this season. One of the problems there is that they've had so many players and rotate so much that they never have a settled team.RocketLawnChair wrote:They aren't quite as complimentary of Jones and Boyd. Re: ARTICLE: Released Wallace prompts club announcement
CT - Your article says he’s scored ten league goals for them this season. He hasn't; he's scored ten over three seasons. This season he's scored just two.
Not that I'm a pedant.

It took Boyd 18 months to win me over,in the remaining time of his career at Burnley he was excellent and I was sorry to see him go

His equalising goal against Leicester will forever stay with me, it felt like we’d won the Universe. Their faces were a picture after they’d been giving us dogs abuse all game and banging that f*****g drum.

Good player. We never quite got the best out of him although he did put in some eye-catching performances. Good luck to him in the future.

That was a great moment and seemed to be the one that tipped Nigel Pearson over the edge as his comments in the post match interviews and some of his subsequent behaviour became more and more bizarre.ClaretEngineer wrote:His equalising goal against Leicester will forever stay with me, it felt like we’d won the Universe. Re: ARTICLE: Released Wallace prompts club announcement
I thought he was good for us.
Will always remember that free kick at Leicester, as said above
and also pulling back the ball for Danny Ings to get the winner at Deadwood.
Agree he'd be good for the rebuilding job at Sunderland.

Re: ARTICLE: Released Wallace prompts club announcement
I don't mean anything, just posting what some Sheff Weds fans feel about Jones and Boyd. IMO we outgrew Jones just watching Westwood Cork Defour and Hendrick in centre mid proves that, but I think he did a good job for us whilst he was here. I liked Boyd at first as an individual but felt as time went on he became quite restricted in Dyche's framework although he carried out his duties within that framework to the letter so a good professional and we were successful so all's good.Ashingtonclaret46 wrote:You mean just like a lot of Burnley fans
Re: ARTICLE: Released Wallace prompts club announcement
I work with a Wednesday fan and he's always been positive about Wallace. Jones is a curse by the sounds of it; he plays, they lose!! Boyd is a tough one because his injury has restricted him to 15 apps in the league. It's hard to judge a player off that. It sounds like they tried playing him as a left wing back, which I understand, but it's a new role so it'll take time to learn where he fits in. I'm surprised they've not offered Wallace another 12 months to be honest because when he's been fit he's played nearly every game!!

Re: ARTICLE: Released Wallace prompts club announcement
Played a big part in Dyche's first promotion season which began this great journey. His injury early in the season was pivotal to our success and paved the way for Arfield and Kightly to show what quality wide players could do
Re: ARTICLE: Released Wallace prompts club announcement
Very clever player with a want of a left foot. Good luck to the lad.

Re: ARTICLE: Released Wallace prompts club announcement
If I was with Brechin's management, I'd be signing him NOW, if not sooner.
Re: ARTICLE: Released Wallace prompts club announcement
He's got a Rangers tattoo so wouldn't be that surprising.CleggHall wrote:For heaven's sake, Ross played for Celtic, most unlikely that he'll turn to Rangers now?
