Yaya Toure
Re: Yaya Toure
He doesn't need the money. Has a settled, private home life. We are a club, in the Prem and close by. We are in Europe. What's not to like?

We shouldn't even think about it.Quickenthetempo wrote:On a free transfer, so even at 200k a week would be cheaper for us than Hendrick over two seasons.
Our tested formula of bringing in players with the potential to develop has to be the way.
Re: Yaya Toure
If he’s keen to stay where is, keep playing top level football and would be prepared to drop within our salary structure (a few ifs there but none beyond the realms of possibility) he’d be an amazing signing, we would be mad not to enquire about the possibility.

He'd improve all the players around him but I don't expect it happening.

Re: Yaya Toure
Built like a wheely bin and, these days, moves like one. However, if SD wants him, he would be a great signing.
Re: Yaya Toure
Maybe his name is being bandied about to make other maybe more realistic targets aware of our ambition for the task ahead ?

Re: Yaya Toure
If we signed Yaya Toure on 150k for 2 years thats 15,600,000. we signed Kevin Long in 2010. Assuming he's been on 30k average since then that's 30*9*52 = £14,040,000. Adjusting for inflation approx £20 million. No brainer for me. Get that cash ready Mr Garlic.

Arsenal.
Re: Yaya Toure
Long won't have earned anything remotely close to that.HaffnersBoy69 wrote:If we signed Yaya Toure on 150k for 2 years thats 15,600,000. we signed Kevin Long in 2010. So we should completely blow our wage cap and double it for 1 player, really? I think he'd be an amazing signing but £8M a year is a fortune to be paying in the Championship to 1 player (if we were relegated with him next year).HaffnersBoy69 wrote:If we signed Yaya Toure on 150k for 2 years thats 15,600,000. we signed Kevin Long in 2010. Re: Yaya Toure
Top idea to be honest, some saying he’s past it and wouldn’t turn up for a side like Burnley, but that’s what they said about Joey Barton and he’s a club legend now. I say let’s go for it, Dyche will sort him.HaffnersBoy69 wrote:If we signed Yaya Toure on 150k for 2 years thats 15,600,000. we signed Kevin Long in 2010. OK. £40k tops, plus a bit of bonus if he contributes to us staying up. Any good?BartonForever97 wrote:Top idea to be honest, some saying he’s past it and wouldn’t turn up for a side like Burnley, but that’s what they said about Joey Barton and he’s a club legend now. We'd need to factor in the cost of extravagant birthday cakes.

Steveharper's perm. Two attacks on me in two days. Does this mean that I'm not on your Christmas card list this year?
