A team on a downward trajectory. Nearer home would be the only pull.

A club that seem to have failed to capitalise, in football terms, on their premier league winning success. It's going to take a bit of work to stop the slide into a mid table premier league club.

Re: Muzzy Izzet
Leicester/England are the jobs I fear when it comes to losing Dyche.
The top 6 won't go near him (wrongly), but he is the best option for the other two without doubt. I'm sure he has is own opinions too however!

Re: Muzzy Izzet
If it’s not a top six club then the question is, why wouldn’t he want to add european football to his cv?
Re: Muzzy Izzet
If the job is available, it will mean that they have sacked four managers in three years, and two of those managers having won recent Championships for them. Also, he wouldn't be first choice because they have kept appointing other managers when they could have gone for Dyche. And he certainly wouldn't be supreme commander. So there are powerful reasons why he wouldn't go there, as well as reasons why he would.

If they are outside the top 8 or 9 at Christmas they'd sack him

The club that bulleted their manager six months after he delivered them the most unexpected title in 40 years.
Sean Dyche would need his bumps reading to go there.

Strange set up there where the players continue to have the power to get managers sacked.dushanbe wrote:The club that bulleted their manager six months after he delivered them the most unexpected title in 40 years.

Re: Muzzy Izzet
Looking at it without claret tinted specs on, Leicester would have more financial muscle and draw to attract higher profile players. Plus there’s no doubt he would be on higher salary.
We all know the reasons why it would be a bad move for Dyche though. I couldn’t see him leaving for the king power at this time.

Toxic club, something rotten to the core.

Would lack the job security he has at TM and foreign owners usually want foreign managers.

Heard a rumour and saw a text message from someone 'in the know' regarding this about 6 weeks ago, I dismissed it as pure speculation and although he would probably be on a short list I just can't see him wanting to move.
They (Leicester) may well struggle to keep hold of Mahrez and Vardy this time around and will be much poorer without them.

their club is declining, one remarkable season under Raneiri, albeit with the usual teams that are challenging playing like vauxhall conference sides that year.JohnMac wrote:Heard a rumour and saw a text message from someone 'in the know' regarding this about 6 weeks ago, I dismissed it as pure speculation and although he would probably be on a short list I just can't see him wanting to move.

The city is a decrepit and decaying dump, really horrible place.
Fanbase consists low intelligence nitwits who adore those noisy clappy things the club leave under the seats.
The owners are unstable to say the least.
He probably wont leave Burnley ever, but if he did bang his head on a door frame and become slightly befuddled, leicester would not be his next move.

Re: Muzzy Izzet
European club football will be a massive tick on his CV and will help to open up 'bigger' opportunities in the future.
If he is interested in the Leicester job it's one that seems to come vacant on a regular basis so no pressure to jump at it now.

Leicester will finish 8th or 9th in the Premier League.
If they’re potting their manager after that, then it should pretty much put off any manager who values a bit of stability and loyalty.

Re: Muzzy Izzet
Mr D is building a football club and creating a legacy capable of placing his name amongst the greats managers. Not because he spends a billion and buys a league but because he create and evolves his team without anyone realising it.
In years to come, he will be a reference to the benchmark for a complete manager.
He has arrived . There is nowhere to go.

Re: Muzzy Izzet
If Leicester wanted Dyche then but for us being in Europe next season it would be a no brainer for an ambitious manager who has self belief and thinks his success at Burnley isnt just a lucky one off
No matter how we progress getting/keeping Burnley in the top 10 each season will need Dyche to be the best manager in the league constantly whereas with the financial backing at Leicester Dyche should comfortably get them in the top ten every year and challenging for Europe and maybe having the odd golden season like we've just had where he gets them in the top 4 and into the Champions league
That said i think the pull of getting a shot at the Europa league will be enough for us to hold on to Dyche though I honestly think next year will be his last season as our manager

Re: Muzzy Izzet
That’s the type of club I could see him going to, if Bruce doesn’t get them up in the play offs it will be interesting to see if he goes. A club like Villa may appeal to Dyche due to the potential they offer.tim_noone wrote:I could see him at Villa one day... But that's a long way off.
Going to Leicester would be a foolish move, take Mahrez, Vardy and McGuire out of their team and they would be at the bottom end of the table.
As someone said in a earlier post wrongly he would be overlooked for a top six team job (his odds for Arsenal job suggest so). Dyche is not stupid and in order to get a higher job that he deserves he has to somehow drop the label that he is another Pulis/Allardyce type of manager. The football we played in the first half of he season dispelled that myth typified with the goal at Everton. That is why as we progress I can see us playing more football that “is more pleasing on the eye”.

Re: Muzzy Izzet
SD probably has more say in the running of this club than he would have at any other which is why I think he could be with us for a while. If he's currently on £3.5m per year then he's not exactly on the breadline and already set for life financially. I believe SD is really happy here and is all about the club not just the team. He's my hero at present

Is that all we pay him? He’s worth a lot more than that to us.
He won’t go to Leicester now. A good campaign in Europe might be a way of enhancing his credentials for that “top six” job...
