Re: possible Burnley player targets?
It was put together well and some good suggestions but I nearly threw up when I saw the ''transformed 11'' at the end and Defour wasn't even on the bench...

I was going to post the exact same thing. It goes from interesting to deluded to a bit `fan boy` but his final starting 11 for next season is interesting.claretblue wrote:interesting suggestions:

Re: possible Burnley player targets?
Didn`t notice the non-Defour but he was suggesting that Defour is injury-prone so maybe he was putting forward other options. Defour is nailed on to start for me.KRBFC wrote:It was put together well and some good suggestions but I nearly threw up when I saw the ''transformed 11'' at the end and Defour wasn't even on the bench...

A player i would like to see is Darren Fletcher. He aint young but the know how and experience he could bring for our european campaign would be invaluable. He would fit in well here.

Good video and some interesting suggestions. I did feel that many of the players suggests are out of our reach though. Perhaps I'm underestimating us - we're better placed than ever to attract players.
Re: possible Burnley player targets?
Isn’t Luke Shaw on around £120k a week,

Re: possible Burnley player targets?
So £80m in transfers and about £20m a year in wages - hmm doesn't really seem to fit our approach does it -
What is interesting is that we know SD is a big fan of Simeone - and we can see from his purchases and ongoing team development that this is what he wants, just knows that he can't buy the finished article without some risks (Defour and his injury record) - we have Taylor being developed for that Left sided role - Defour already - Brady for the Shaquiri role (or even JBG if he continues to develop at the pace he has this season) - just leaves the support striker role and if Derby trip up in the play-offs there is an opportunity but it will be close to £20m if not more - though I could see either Brady or JBG there will Lennon in the team

Re: possible Burnley player targets?
This video is severely overambitious and unrealistic.

I fear this is just the start of the "It can happen on FM so it can happen in real life for Burnley" type threads.

Re: possible Burnley player targets?
I don't know who put that together but it makes for interesting reading. A tad over ambitious IMHO but I think that there are maybe three possibles. It will be an interesting month or so.

Re: possible Burnley player targets?
The only one on that list i can see us signing is Vydra,he's 25 so young enough to develop, and potentially in a year or two make a profit on or at least break even, wages should be viable as well. The rest is fantasy football or like Luke Shaw a sicknote.

Re: possible Burnley player targets?
So we go from Stoke at their best a couple of seasons ago to Stoke now. No bloody thank you.

Re: possible Burnley player targets?
Pretty sure our market is the best of the Championship and some lower end Prem players and can't really see this changing too much. Perhaps the odd dip into the European market but nothing overly unrealistic.

Luke Shaw has played more football this season than Robbie Brady, Scott Arfield, Ashley Westwood, Sam Vokes, Tom Heaton, and many more.tiger76 wrote:The rest is fantasy football or like Luke Shaw a sicknote.

Re: possible Burnley player targets?
Maybe but if his 80k a week wages are true far too risky a signing for us to consider. In his four seasons at United he has started 43 Premier League games, they can afford to carry passengers we can not. Anyway looks like he is staying at Old Trafford for many years yet https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43007805UpTheBeehole wrote:Luke Shaw has played more football this season than Robbie Brady, Scott Arfield, Ashley Westwood, Sam Vokes, Tom Heaton, and many more.

Re: possible Burnley player targets?
When you consider that 3 of our best players have come from teams that got relegated from the Championship, then I doubt we are going to sign Luke Shaw from Manure.
