How important is your pet ?
A couple of years ago the wife and I decided to get a pet I immediately said “dog” she said “cat” so yes we got a rag doll cat from a kitten ,now I’ve never really had a cat before just a quite old one of hers that died shortly after I moved in (nowt to do with me) but she(the cat) means the world to me now so without causing embarrassment do other Clarets feel the same about their furry family ?

My cat is ok, but now it's plucked all the rubber on my Windows and as gone loopy needing to leave the house and come back every 5 minutes, I want it gone.
Believe it or not I have a heart so can't bring myself to draw string bag, brick and canal her, and certainly don't want to pay £100 to put her down.
I'd prefer either a farm for her to retire, or get run over.
None of the wife or kids would miss her, she's become a hindrance

Don't get me started on dogs, they should be banned unless they're working dogs. Otherwise they serve no purpose in my opinion.

Easy enough to put a cat to sleep without the theatricals....couple of crushed diazepam in food...sink full of water at body temp..ease her under avert eyes for 1 minute...job done...save money and save cat the trauma of car ride to vet. Really not hard to do if you get a grip on your emotions.

I took her other week to the vets, £100 later...
Next time she needs any treatment etc, she will be bumped off. She's only about 5, so there will be an opportunity sooner rather than later.
She's a cutie, just causes me headaches, gets in they way and costs me money on a regular basis for no rewards or satisfaction to myself, and I've got kids that fill them duties.
She's surplus to requirements.

Yep...works fine..had to do it myself 2 years back...living on a tiny island with a weird German woman the only alleged vet available...a woman avoided like the plague by most animal owners around here...it was a no-brainer.

Just to add...I replaced her with 2 kittens from a rescue place in Cornwall...they've cleared the vermin from my meagre acre or so in a flash..both toms...only feed them occasionally to keep them on their toes...but I think they're happy they got this gig...total freedom..no roads or owt.

Took my ginger Tom to the vets last week as he had lost his voice. (the cat that is, not the vet). 2 injections, £50 and 24 hours later his voice was back. Then the little bugger bit me.

Took my dog to the vet a couple of weeks ago as she didn't seem herself. I was stunned and devastated when he said he was going to have to put her down. When I asked why, he said, "because she's really heavy."

My Mrs got a Pug for the kids.
Had it 3 weeks and it cost me just short of a grand in vet bills after it ate some Lego and paper clips
Does the diazepam trick work on pugs?

Their breath stinks
Their food stinks a mile off
They stink
They in turn make your house stink
They moult
They saliva everywhere
They bark loudly
They bite
They cost you money
They take up your time
Their sh1t is all over our pavements/parks
( If you are half decent you ick it up, and have to carry it around in a bag, although there's still smears of it left on the grass/pavement )
They are constantly off their leads in parks, regularly confronting other dogs, children or adults who dont want them jumping up with their mucky paws and wet fur. ( even worse when it clearly says keep dogs on leads, or no dogs allowed )
Their owners are inconsolable when they finally move on, often burying them, getting their ashes or tattoos in memory....
Yeah dogs are great, can't wait until the Mrs gets her way...

Dry food doesn't stink
A well kept dog doesn't stink
See above
A well groomed dog doesn't
Not true
Not if trained properly
Again not if trained properly
So do kids
So do kids
Fair call but responsible owners pik it up and make sure it's all gone (if they are fed decent food then it's not sloppy!)
Irresponsible owners
So do parents that lose kids.....

I'll be berter off and not have a smelly house.
You wouldn't need to fear though, as it'd be trained and treated accordingly.
