Tarks and van Dijk would make a hell of a defensive yet very creative pairing.

Recently signed a new contract, how much did they sigb Van Dijk for? £75 mill? I'd be asking for at least that.

Chap I work with knows Tarky (might be bullshitting but have no reason not to believe him). He actually told me this earlier today and I called him out for lying.
He said £48m release fee on his contract.
Make of that what you will

Weirdly enough, I heard 45m release fee, days after he signed it, so possibly not the BS some might think.Claretmatt4 wrote:Chap I work with knows Tarky (might be bullshitting but have no reason not to believe him). He actually told me this earlier today and I called him out for lying.

Dick Van Dyke and Tarks are both right sided so that won't work
Better off going for Mee
And Heaton

Re: Liverpool target James Tarkowski...
I don't think he's worth 45m so if they offered that, I'd sell. We've sold some of our best players before and look where we are. We'll just sign somebody else who will go on to move for £50 million in a couple of years.

Not really. Plenty of us wanted to cash in on Gray and felt we could do better whilst losing Keane to leave us Mee and Tarks (with Long still as a reserve) at the back isnt even in the same ball park as losing both first choice centre backs to leave us with a habitual reserve and a back up left back.Dyched wrote:A year ago we’d say the same about Keane,Gray and Heaton and well were in Europe.
As for Heaton you do know we didn't sell him last summer???

I don't think he's good enough for Liverpool.
But if we can get that kind of dosh for him, fair enough.

Don't worry
Charlie Taylor is being groomed
Second thoughts - worry
What is he being groomed for ?

Not so good on the left side partnering Long, admittedly.

If we sell one I will be worried, both Mee and Tarks is a massive ask for any manager to replace. With Europa and the league relegation scares me if we lose to many starters.

Re: Liverpool target James Tarkowski...
Not sure why anyone would sell our players for mega bucks. Surely it would weaken the team and its not like we are going to spend the same for a replacement. BFC ain't short of cash, quality maybe.
Re: Liverpool target James Tarkowski...
I know. Heaton missed 30 odd pl league games. I was talking about the “tarts” who, y’know spit the dummy out. But If they go, they go. Ive absolutely full confidence in Sean to replace if needed. As long as Sean is here come kick off we’ll be reyt.Devils_Advocate wrote:Not really. I’ve put in a transfer request.....for £100m I’ll support Bastards for 4 years though I’ve got a slightly dodgy knee, and when I become a tad “unsettled” I’ll trigger my release clause of £400 ....

Re: Liverpool target James Tarkowski...
Newspaper talk as usual.
Re: Liverpool target James Tarkowski...
Suspect this may be newspaper gossip albeit Liverpool may well be looking for
an additional centre-half which almost by default puts Tarks in the frame.
Dyche has already stated that we don't need to sell but, if memory serves me well,
did also add unless it's silly money.
Now if Liverpool do come in for him much will depend on whether Tarks expresses an interest
in going (one presumes he might) and how much they are willing to pay and/or we willing to accept.
They paid 75m for Van Dyke (I think I may have his name wrong) but I don't think you can
put Tarks in the same category so I would think 25-30m might be close to being tempting
or silly money.
Hopefully not and he (and Mee) stay.
It would be extremely difficult to replace them both.

Re: Liverpool target James Tarkowski...
If they offered anything close to 45m for him we'd be mad not to accept it. For anything above 30m I think he's likely to go.

IF there is a buy out clause of £45-48m as suggested above then surely we wouldn't sell for anything less than that?boyyanno wrote:If they offered anything close to 45m for him we'd be mad not to accept it. For anything above 30m I think he's likely to go.

Re: Liverpool target James Tarkowski...
Paper talk. However is he a better option than lovren, matip or Joe Gomez? Klavan possibly but they don't need tarks. For £60m they should go get koulibally from Napoli now that would be an illegal partnership with him and van dijk.

Re: Liverpool target James Tarkowski...
Dyche has clearly stated a couple of weeks ago Burnley will only consider selling any player if ridiculous money was offered because quite simply we don't need the cash. They have stated their intention so it remains to be seen if anyone comes in with stupid money. If the figures being bandied around for Tarks are anywhere near correct then we should have no trouble finding an adequate replacement. Personally I wouldn't mind betting that no-one of any importance leaves our club this summer, and I include Mee in that.1Simpleton wrote:Not sure why anyone would sell our players for mega bucks. Re: Liverpool target James Tarkowski...
Worth pointing out here.
There isn't any point keeping players who want to go.
Once someone decides to go, then its best to get the best price for him*
*no idea if Tarks wants to go or not btw

I'd be disappointed if he left us so soon. We've only had one full season out of him. However, Dyche can spot a defender and we should have no problem bringing in someone to replace him if need be. It's what we do!
