Pickford - positioning for the shot that hit the post was very suspect, not sure he had a chance with the follow up

The team mirrors it's manager
Safety first, bore them to sleep.
Leave yourself open to be punished

Re: England vs Nigeria
Pickford has one major flaw and that's his decision making from crosses. He's not really had a cross to deal with today so Southgate has learned nothing from today

Sterling should not play again for England. We don't want cheats - especially those who aren't even that good at it!
Will it happen? No! Sad really

For anyone with expectations of England going a long way in the World Cup, this performance should give you a reality check!

Sending off, 3 match ban and a penalty to the other side would soon stop the divers.

An average performance. Although we often seem to be pretty crap against poor opposition.

I feel like a domestic violence victim who keeps going back when it comes to the England team...

Needless to say it won't!

Yawn!
Sterling cheating in an England shirt... what does that say about the country?
Wellbeck...showed all his pace....lost 5 yards over 10 twice! Clodhopper now. Pity. He was good once.

I think we'll make the Quarter-Finals, purely because of our group and who we'll face if we qualify for the final 16.Bigvince wrote:For anyone with expectations of England going a long way in the World Cup, this performance should give you a reality check!
Not because of our performances.
Re: England vs Nigeria
I just don't think we are very good, can managers really suck that much energy and flair from all these players?
Loftus -Cheek looked like a poor Martin Paterson.
The team just looked so, so poor.
( admittedly I only saw the last 5 mins if first half, and the 2nd half )
A set play and a GK error, other than that we were none existent in the final 3rd.
God help us against a proper football team like Iceland or better...

I've come back after not bothering for about 4 years, "Southgate is different, he's picking players on form many have told me.
Looks very much the same to me, just with crapper players who try and cheat their way to victories.

Re: England vs Nigeria
I think it's more about supporting England, rather than thinking they'll do well and enjoying the football. I just do it to get behind them and hope they surprise me.
Re: England vs Nigeria
I don't think many people think it is going to be better this time. The opposite in fact - people have considerably lowered their expectations as the quality of the squad as deteriorated.

That was awful. It's a team of middle-weight boxers. They look good and they can run but I'm afraid they ain't no footballers.

So after today’s lacklustre performance can we all agree that England will not repeat not win the WK?
