Best podcasts
May have been covered before but after some up to date recommendations.
Average well over 500 miles a week in the car so after some decent podcasts (to go along with the audio books) to make use of the time.
Open to anything although not bothered about news or politics.
Finished all the joey barton ones and they were right up my street. Especially liked the Danny Cipriani and Tony Bellew ones - the two I thought I would enjoy least. Kevin Dutton one highly recommended too.
On a lighter note listened to all of the quickly kevin will he score ones and theyre very very funny.
Any recommendations appreciated.

Re: Best podcasts
Joe Rogan's podcasts on Youtube are fantastic, regularly gets MMA guests, American comedians, actors, doctors etc.
Another Youtuber called ''True Geordie'' is pretty good, guests ranging from Robbie Williams to Chris Eubank to Michael Bisping.

Who is Joe Rogan? Is it purely sport?
I look those which get pretty deep.

Re: Best podcasts
Joe Rogan is a stand up comedian, he does the commentary for the UFC. His guests vary, he gets deep with all the guests even the MMA fighters. He's a pretty deep guy, he smokes a blunt and goes deep as fkcricketfieldclarets wrote:Who is Joe Rogan? Is it purely sport?

Re: Best podcasts
James o'Briens ones on "unfiltered" are pretty good, but they are a bit newsy at times
Guardian football podcasts are good
James Richardson ones for football in i-tunes good as well

Re: Best podcasts
If you like your boxing get ring side toe to toe, it's out every Wednesday n a great listen with the knowledge on there!
Re: Best podcasts
Not really, I watch mainly the ones with MMA fighters because I like MMA but the ones with Doctors are really interesting, it just goes a little too deep and very health driven. I'd do a quick google of the guests, you will find one guest you would like to listen and learn from. I recommend the podcast with Jordan Peterson (Jordan Bernt Peterson is a Canadian clinical psychologist and public intellectual, who is professor of psychology at the University of Toronto.)cricketfieldclarets wrote:Sounds like my sort of thing although I dont follow or like mma and know nothing about it. Re: Best podcasts
The Magic Sponge is good, some guests are poor but definitely recommend you listen to the Glen Little, Ray Parlour, David Noble, Graham Stack and the 2 from Tony Warner, some great football stories.
Re: Best podcasts
The good thing about Joe Rogan is the guests are very varied, you don't need to watch the MMA ones (I often skip them) and they all have a separate title.
Recently he has had a sleep expert on and also someone who thinks the Sphynx might be a few thousand years older than we think.
He also had some really good scientology ones where he has Leah Remini (from King of Queens) exposing it and Louie Theroux talking about his documentary on it. Plus hundreds of other topics. He is a bow hunter so often has guests on about that too.
True Geordie is good too

Re: Best podcasts
I find the Joe Rogan podcast really hit and miss. Sometimes great offering deep insight into different topics, mindsets and points of view and others that are complete trash.
The last decent one I remember listening to was with an ex Navy Seal and Ultramarathon runner, David Goggins.

For football I can't recommended the Second Captains podcast highly enough. Guardian Football Weekly also a good listen.
Re: Best podcasts
Stuff you should know (SYSK) with Josh Clark and Charles W. Chuck Bryant, would keep you going for a long time there are hundreds of them. Literally two blokes chewing over subjects from science, history, urban legends, pop culture and the occasional conspiracy theory thrown in for good measure. I like em.

Re: Best podcasts
Adam Buxton and Scroobious Pip are both excellent.
Last Podcast on the Left if you like unsolved mysteries/serial killers type stuff and can put up with 3 wacky Americans.
Athletico Mince if you like Bob Mortimer. Some of this stuff is brilliant.

Re: Best podcasts
Another vote for Joe Rogan. Love when he gets Joey Diaz on the show. Diaz is a Cuban American comedian and grew up in New York City in the 70's. His stories are brilliant.
Brian Cox and Louis Theroux have been on the podcast, as well as Russell Brand and Steve-o. I find a lot of the time it's the guests who you don't like or know who end up being the best listens. It's the best mix of guests on a podcast in my opinion.

Re: Best podcasts
I'm a big fan of the World Football Phone In (BBC)
It's strange to hear some actual decent knowledge of the game from the BBC and there's some funny joking around too.
A lot of people on here probably know Kermode and Mayo's Film Review (BBC). I don't really go to the cinema much but the programme is very entertaining.
I do listen to the Guardian Football Weekly podcast and the Totally Football Show but neither of them are as good as The Guardian's Football Weekly used to be - James RIchardson and some other key guys who used to be on it broke away to do their own podcast and create the Totally Football Show, leaving some of the best commentators on one show and some on the other. It's like a divorce and we are the kids...
I used to hate Fighting Talk (BBC) but after lots of driving around and nothing to listen to I came to really like it.
Personally love the Flintoff, Savage and the Ping Pong guy ones from the BBC too.

Re: Best podcasts
Bump. Just discovered infinite monkeycage. For anyone who likes Brian Cox (The professor) you will love these. Informative but quite witty / funny too.
